I sighed lightly as I walked to my house, glad to be out of there. My "mother" signed me up for art classes I told her I didn't want to do, and so now I'm stuck with 20 kids my age who can't even pick up a pencil to draw without asking the teacher what to do next.
Oh, and my "mother" isn't even my real mother. I'm adopted. And unfortunately for me, into a family of 5 girls and a boy, all of whom are pretty, beautiful, handsome, you know, all the popular kid stuff.
I scoffed to myself.
Like I could ever be noticed around here. The only person who ever listens to me, is my best friend Adrion, and in return, I listen to him. We've been bestfriends for all 3 years of highschool, and balance eachother out. I'm more of the quiet, loner type person, while Adrion (even though also a loner) will be crazy and hyper the more you get to know him.
I smiled. He was in my art classes too, though he depended on me to teach him how to draw instead of the teacher.
Suddenly, something wet hit my cheek, and grey dots littered the sidewalk.
Spreading my arms out wide, I stuck my tongue out, and began to twirl in the middle of the road. I had checked both ways for cars, and there had been none, so I wasn't too caught up on the fear of getting run ov-
BEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEP!
Immediately, I snapped my eyes open and stopped spinning, only to meet the bright shine of headlights.
Quickly, I ran to the side of the road, but ended up diving into the ditch because of the slippery ground, and my coordination. My body met the hard ground, and I winced.
That's gonna leave a bruise…
Instead of stopping, though, my body continued to roll, as I realized with horror, that this wasn't a ditch – It was definitely a very large hill.
Rolling down the hill, collecting bruises and bumps along the way, I managed to see the lake at the bottom of the hill.
Oh…..Sh*t….
Reaching out to grab anything that could make me stop rolling, I scraped my hands along dirt and rocks, but nothing to keep me from falling into the lake.
Suddenly, my ribs banged into a large rock, and a resounding crack was heard.
I winced at the sound.
That's gonna hurt in the morning…
SPLASH!
Without warning, I rolled into the lake. Kicking my feet, and flapping my arms, I tried to tread water, but something began to pull me down to the bottom of the lake. Kicking harder, I realized nothing was holding onto me, but I was indeed being sucked downwards.
Suddenly, a bright orange light started to obscure my vision, until I could see nothing but it.
I was still under water, from what I could tell, since the burning of my lungs made my head spin and pound, but what was this light?
My vision began to fade, and I fought to stay conscious. But soon enough, the orange light faded, leaving me in the dark.
