A/N: I thought I should try a one-shot like this. Review and tell me what you think :)

She's 23 when they take her away from her home, away from the sea, away from everything she knows is real.

She's 23 when they bring her back to the Capitol for the first time since she was 18, she thought it was the last time, but the Capitol never keeps their promises.

She's 23 when she's thrown into a Capitol prison cell with an old friend and a new one.

She's 23 when she hears Johanna's screams, a newfound fear of water being born.

She's 23 when she hears Peeta's screams, a hatred erupting into his soul for the girl on fire.

She's 23 when they show her videos of her own Hunger Games, and Finnick isn't there to take the pain away.

She's 23 when she holds Peeta at night, trying to help him separate the facts with the lies the Capitol is feeding him.

She's 23 when Johanna never speaks a word to either of them, just sitting in her corner of the cell, waiting for a miracle.

She's 24 when a miracle actually occurs, and they are saved by a boy named Gale and many other men wearing uniforms.

She's 24 when they are lifted onto a hovercraft, and Johanna is unconscious and Peeta is shaking, gripping her hand tightly, and she thinks maybe she's not the only crazy one in this sick world after all.

She's 24 when they arrive in 13, and the three ex-prisoners are finally safe.

She's 24 when they inspect her to see the damage the Capitol has done, though she thinks all the damage in unseen, in her mind.

She's 24 when she sees him, the person she's dreamt of every night since he left for the Quell; the person who haunts her constant thoughts; her love, Finnick Odair.

She's 24 when he sees her too, and tears are running down his face and he's stroking her hair, sobbing for all the lost time they have to make up.

She's 25 when they are married, and they can finally start the life they've talked about since they were teenagers, the life they knew they had to fight for, the life they knew was worth all the pain they faced.

She's 25 when she discovers she's pregnant, and their little family is becoming a reality, and she's going to be a mother, and Finnick a father, and she can't be happier, and she waits for Finnick to come home from the Capitol so he can be happy with her.

She's 25 when Peeta comes to tell her Finnick isn't coming home, and for the first time Peeta has to hold her while she tries to sort things out in her jumbled mind.

She's 26 when she moves back to District Four, and has her baby, and names him Finnick after the only man she's ever loved.

She's 26 when she finally accepts that he's gone, and although she'll never be able to love another, she knows she can live a happy life with her son, and maybe have her own happily ever after, because her prince charming is always with her, always, because like the wind, she can't see him, but she can feel him.
