Edward's POV
I'd like to think I could've altered that day in some way, been there to prevent it; been there at all. It's funny how at one moment you can think something is the best decision, later you realize is the worst mistake.
Bella's POV
I felt more free in this moment than I ever have. I felt as if I could do anything, accomplish everything, bring back anyone…….if only. This was such a liberating out of body experience for me. I felt like I was watching myself from above.
I stood above the rocky shadowed cliffs and watery depths as the storm whipped violently around me, swaying me towards the ledge. I lingered there in a white dress, one of Edward's favorites, with my arms spread wide; feeling like I was flying. I felt like I was in the scene of Titanic when Rose stood on the railing of the ship, spreading her arms wide. To the wind, to freedom. I know I felt what she must have felt too.
Balancing on the edge of the cliffs may seem a bit strange but I was driven to these lengths out of what may some call insanity. But it wasn't insanity it was desperation. Desperation to be as close to the one person I had ever loved as possible even if it was just to hear his voice.
Just thinking of his voice made me drift back to thoughts of Edward. As I closed my eyes I reveled in the feeling of him, when he used to hold me. God how long its felt since he'd kissed me, it feels like an eternity.
I longed for that feeling again, the feeling that he loved me. He would love me, we would be together. I'm so close Edward, so close. I moved closer to the edge, my toes hanging over. Then I heard his voice, pained, begging, "Bella don't do this, please just go home and be safe."
My tears came harder, I screamed into the angry storm. "This is the only way we can be together, this is the only way you can love me, and I can have you. If this is the only way then so be it." I wiped my tears and whispered to the wind letting it carry my words, "I love you Edward Cullen."
With that I pushed off the cliff and as I fell there was complete peace, total freedom as I fell freely into it all. I smiled as I drifted out of consciousness and everything started to fade. Maybe your gonna be the one who saves me. I gasped, "Save me Edward."
With my last words came a bright light and then I saw him, smiling at me. He reached his hand out to mine and pulled me with him as he said the words I'd been dying to hear, "I love you too Bella Swan." With that he pulled me fully through the light and I smiled, "You saved me."
He smiled his crooked smile back at me. "Of course I did. I'm always here love." And after all you're my wonderwall.
