A/N: I'm lonely and have way too much time on my hands (much like The Doctor) so I decided to use my recent obsession with Doctor Who to my advantage by writing a story.

Pond

Amelia was dreaming, but she didn't know it yet. She was in a wide forest, running with River Song and The Doctor.

"Pond, pond!" The Doctor kept saying, but he wasn't talking to Amy. They kept running, and she assumed there was a monster after them, until they stopped with seemingly no trigger. She turned to ask The Doctor why they'd stopped, but he was gone.

"River, where'd The Doctor go?" Amy asked, stepping closer to River as she saw the darkness behind her move. She examined the forest, but couldn't identify any enemy.

"We have to stay here," River answered cryptically, settling on a nearby rock to wait.

"But…why?" Amy asked, looking around suspiciously. She couldn't relax in this creepy environment, especially when The Doctor was nowhere to be seen. There was something in the corner of her eye, but every time she turned, it moved with her.

"Trust me?" River asked, staring into the forest and avoiding Amy's eyes.

"Of course, River," Amy answered immediately, ceasing her movement and looking at River. The thing behind her was moving in her peripheral vision but she kept her focus forward, knowing it would hide as soon as she tried to see it.

"We have to stay here," River stated again, her tone ending the conversation.

"River, tell me why," Amy ordered, fearful and frustrated.

"That's not my name," River whispered; Amy struggled to hear.

"River isn't your real name?" she asked, slightly desperately in her panic, trying to get closer to hear her better but finding herself no closer despite her steps forward. The forest also appeared to be creeping up on her, closer and closer, but she refused to look at it.

"It's a different language."

"What, like a translation?" Amy stopped trying to get closer, realising the forest was using her movement to approach.

"Yeah."

"But I thought names stayed the same no matter where…" Amy trailed off. "Well, what's your real name?"

"Spoilers." River's voice was so quiet, and she still wouldn't meet Amy's eyes. She seemed almost translucent now.

"Oh, come on. You and The Doctor, both hiding your names. Why's it so secret?"

"You of all people—I can't tell you."

"Why not?"

Her next words were quiet and fading, and Amy struggled to hear.

"Because the only water in the forest is the river…"

Amy woke up and remembered the words, the same words the TARDIS's soul had spoken, but not understanding them. Not yet.
