I found this story at the bottom of my stories folder from about 4 or 5 years ago and I thought I'd post it just for fun. Hope you enjoy this little one shot.

Rex'x P.O.V

I was in the park in the middle of the city. When I saw some swings, there were two free at the end; I went to the one right at the end so I could just watch the other kids with their families. A boy about my age saw me and came up to me.

"Hi," he said brightly.

"Hi," I said shyly, keeping my head down.

I had sneaked out of Providence, again, so I was trying to keep a low profile as they had probably noticed by now and were sending a couple of patrols out took look for me, like they always do, and then I'll have a little game of chase before my powers run out and I'm dragged back home. But I not going to let that ruin my mood.

"I'm Sam, I'm 11, who are you, I haven't seen you here before?" Asked Sam.

"I'm Rex and I'm 10," I answered.

"Cool, want to come play Rex?" Sam asked.

"Sure." I beamed. I was going to have as much fun as I could before I would have to run off and have my usual game of chase.

I seen Sam hiding behind a tree he had his eyes closed trying not to laugh, I snuck up behind him and yelled "BOO" he jumped about a foot in the air but when he landed we looked at each other and laughed.

"Sam where-, oh there you are and hello young man who are you?" asked a woman.

"Oh hi mom! Mom this is Rex, Rex this is my mom," Sam introduced us.

"Hi," I said.

"Hello Rex." she replied.

"MEOW, MEOW," came a noise from above us. We all looked up.

"Oh no that poor little kitten!" someone screamed.

There was a little black and white kitten hanging of a branch with its claws screaming for help. I needed to save it that would impress Sam and his mom for sure.

"I'll get it," I shouted.

"No sweety, it's too dangerous." Said Sam's mom.

"Please, it's just a kitten, I've handled worse things before breakfast, ahhh Moe you will never catch me, hehe." I laughed remembering Moe the giant EVO alligator from the Petting zoo.

I stood underneath the kitten changed my arms into my large metal ones and reached up, I grabbed the kitten in my hands making sure it was safe before changing my arms back leaving the kitten safe in my normal sized hands. I looked at Sam and his mom with a smile on my face but they both had scared expressions on their faces, I frowned and cocked my head sideways.

"What's the-" I began to say before I was cut off.

"Monster!" shouted Sam's mom.

"Where?" I asked frantically, putting the kitten down as it shot off somewhere.

"You, oh God someone help!" she shouted again.

"No, I'm not a monster I'm just a boy," I said confused.

"Please, get him away from me and my child, he's an EVO!" she shouted again.

I didn't see the Providence van's pulling up behind me, guns aimed everywhere but they all piled back into the van's when they saw me, realizing there wasn't an EVO that was about to destroy the city.

"Huh?" I said hurt. There was a hand on my shoulder and I turned to see Captain Callan.

"Rex you ready to come home yet?" asked Captain Callan, ignoring the shrieking woman and the crying boy.

"No, I have to explain and I want to play with some other kids my age the only one close back at Providence is the monkey." I pouted.

"I know let play another game of hide and go seek," I said as I made my little hover bike underneath me it looked like it would fall apart as I hadn't got the hang of this one yet but it would be fine for a while and I raced off into the city.

"REX!" I heard Callan shout from behind me as I laughed whizzing round a corner.
