Leaving the ground with the power from his leg, Chiharu shot the basketball ball into the basket, barely touching the hoop and landed with a thud. Standing upright, he wiped the sweat off his face, closing his eyes to catch his breath. Chiharu opened his eyes, feeling the hard stares from outside the court and found the person clutching the wire fence.
'Huh? Who's that shorty?' he wondered.
"Hey, did you touch the hoop?!" his teammate, Dante, exclaimed.
"That was a great shot!" cried another.
Chiharu chuckled, shaking his head, "No, sorry to disappoint you."
"Really? I thought it was a slam dunk!" Dante said, shaking his head.
"Well, let's play some more but lets change up our teams a bit," Chiharu said.
"Can't we get a break?" Hamaya asked, "And besides we've got to go in for our practice."
"Yeah, yeah," Chiharu said, taking the ball from his teammate and dribbled, "But we've got about ten minutes. Another round of basketball won't hurt."
"Did you hear that a new kid is going to join the basketball today?" Hamaya asked, catching the ball pass from Chiharu.
"Sure did, he's going to be my roommate, annoying huh? I hope he isn't some twat."
"Don't be rough on him, you haven't met him yet, right?" Dante asked.
"I know, I'll reserve my judgment on him until I meet him."
