Ryou felt like crying; He had to endure another night alone. Without Bakura.
He was beyond words. He was beyond tears. He wanted his Yami to at least have the generosity to give him a call, or at least text him and let him know where he was... But no. Bakura didn't do that. Every night, the silver haired Hikari spent an hour or two over his curfew to see if Bakura would come home. But he never did. Bakura would constantly pull all-nighters at Mariku's house, going to bars and drinking with the psychotic Yami. Or at least, that was Ryou's interpretation of an all nighter with Mariku.
A door creaked open, and slowly closed. "Ryou?" Bakura called out gently, unusually. He would normally shout his Hikari's name. Ryou perked up slightly, and walked down the stairs from the master bedroom to the first floor, to the living room, where Bakura had sat down after hanging his trench coat up. "You're..." Ryou felt an almost joyous sensation overcoming him. "Yes, I am," Bakura answered Ryou's incomplete question. "But I need to talk to you." Bakura's tone went from gentle to firm and serious. Ryou nodded and sat down on the two-seater couch next to Bakura. "What is it?"
"Well, first of all, I'm going to apologize for all the nights I've spent at Mariku's house without telling you," Bakura started, "But I'll let you know that we weren't out getting drunk."
Ryou had a hard time believing Bakura, but he knew his Yami wouldn't lie to him if he was serious. "Alright." He murmured. Bakura continued, "I-I was..." He cut himself off and looked to the side with a slight blush, that being extremely unusual. "...?" Ryou tilted his head in confusion. "You were...?"
"W-Well..." Bakura bit his lip. "I-I love you, Ryou." He admitted, "And- I was asking Malik and Mariku about... Love... Because, you know... They're married..."
"Wait-" Ryou choked on the air for a second.
Bakura... L-Loves me?
I am /so/ sorry it's this short :'D I had little time to work on it. The next chapter (Hopefully, updated later this week) will be much longer and more descriptive of the background of the characters and such. :'D
