The Affinity Angel and the Girl
A young girl walked through an empty park carrying a teddy bear. She hugs it close as she gets to the park's main gate. She hesitates on the pavement, fingering the traffic light button to cross the street and waits for the light to turn.
As soon as the light changes, the little girl begins to walk across the street when out of nowhere a car barrels down the road. The girl didn't notice the car until it the headlights were on her, she screamed out in fear clutching her teddy bear.
Suddenly something quickly moved the girl out of the way; she glances up at her savior and was shocked to see that it was an angel. The angel gazed down at the girl to make sure that she wasn't hurt, which thankfully she didn't seem to be.
The girl stared at the angel before opening her mouth and said, "Thank you for saving me, Mr. Angel." This completely caught the angel off guard. "You can see me?", it asked, looking at the girl who nodded in response.
"Yes, I can see you Mr. Angel, what kind of angel are you?", she asked.
"I am an Affinity Angel; I was keeping an eye on things when I saw that car come speeding down the road." The Affinity Angel explained, looking at the girl. The angel was still stunned by the fact that she could see him. "How is it that you can see me?"
"My mommy went to Heaven recently, I miss her a lot. She would always tell me stories about Heaven and that good people become angels when they go to Heaven," The girl responded clutching her teddy tightly. "So I believe in angels and Heaven," she said smiling a little.
"I see...I am sorry you lost your mother," The Affinity angel said as he put a hand on the girl's shoulder.
"I'll see her someday, I'm sure she's watching over me from Heaven right now," she said.
"What is your name little girl?", The Affinity angel asked, feeling curious.
"My name is Kimberly Andreson," she replied "What's yours?"
"I do not have a name Affinity angels do not have a name."
"Hmm...I'm going to call you Gabriel," Kimberly said smiling happily at her new friend.
"Gabriel? Hmm, I like that. Thank you Kimberly," Gabriel said before looking around making sure everything was alright.
"Will you be my Guardian angel?", Kimberly asked
Gabriel looks at Kimberly, thinking briefly before he nods a little. "Yes, I will be your guardian Angel."
Kimberly smiled and hugged the Affinity Angel before kissing his beak, this made the angel smile inwardly.
Kimberly then remembered she had to head home soon and she started walking way, Gabriel took off into the air and followed her home. The angel would keep an eye on her day and night making sure nothing ever happened to her. The pair slowly over time became best friends, Gabriel would always watch over Kimberly until the day she left for college. When she left Gabriel took off, heading back to Heaven where he continued to watch over her for many, many years.
