He meets her on the first day of school...
"Are you ok?" the little boy inquires innocently. He asks the little girl who has just started crying.
"No. Go away." She answers rudely.
The boy looks innocently at the girl.
"She's so thin." he thinks to himself. He reaches into his lunchbox and pulls out an apple.
He hands it to her.
She looks at him quizzically, almost accusingly.
But nevertheless she still takes a bite out of it.
And the two 7-year olds smile at each other for the first time.
His heart breaks the day her own does...
"I am an idiot."
She is crying. He is trying his best to comfort her.
"No you are not. You are one of the smartest people I know."
"It doesnt matter Gabe. I am an idiot when it comes to love."
"Well.."
"Oh don't you dare"
"I am kidding."
"I am gonna spend the rest of my life alone."
"Ep, we are in senior year HIGHSCHOOL. You still have a LOT of time."
"Yeah, maybe." she sniffs
Silence fills her small apartment.
"Marius doesn't know what he is missing."
"Ha. Sure."
She just snuggles into his arms more.
"Why do I always take a fall when I fall in love?"
"I don't know Ep."
He loses himself...
"Well, I am going to die alone now."
"Uh huh, sure Enj."
"Why do I always do this?"
"What? Never realize that the girl you're dating is a bitch? I was about to ask you that."
"No, I meant 'Why do I lose myself everytime I fall in love?'"
"I don't know maybe you just haven't found the right girl yet."
He looks at her from his seat on the couch. She looks at him curiously.
And then he realizes that he just lost himself again.
He hopes...
He was always hoping. Hoping for the right time.
He was always too late.
But he always got a second chance.
Until now.
She has just been with this new guy for 3 months.
But he knows that she has never been happier.
But everyday he hopes for the worst...
That she would come back to his door, crying.
He fails...
He finally had the courage to admit.
But as always, he was too late.
"I love you."
She looks at him, with her eyes wide. They were wide and filled with tears.
"Michael proposed."
His heart sunk.
He gulped.
"What did you say." he asks with his voice shaking.
"I love you too Enj. But not the way you love me."
"What did you say." he asks his voice cracking.
She drops her head and whispers her answer:
"Yes."
He asks...
"Why do I always take a fall when I fall in love?"
"I don't know Gabe."
