Major Samantha Carter clutched the camera in her hands and forced herself to smile at the man in front of her.
Doctor Rodney McKay grinned at her. "So, where do you want me, gorgeous?"
"Why not up on the ramp?" she said, moving back a bit.
"Chevron six encoded," Harriman's voice announced from the overhead speakers and Sam slipped her hand into her pocket, activating the remote connected to her laptop. She heard the overhead speakers snap off and the hiss of the blast shield being lowered over the windows to the control room.
Oblivious to this all, McKay bounced over to the ramp and stepped up on it. "Here?" he asked, beaming at her.
She held up the camera. "Back up just a little more," she told him. Holding her breath.
McKay laughed. "Ah, a snapshot to hang up in your locker and brag to all your coworkers about, huh?" he teased. "Just can't get enough of me, can you?"
"Back up just little more," she told him.
He took a couple more steps up the ramp. "You are cute, for a dumb blond," he told her, striking a pose.
Sam watched the final chevron lock into place and heard the distinctive whine as the wormhole began to form. She had to look away at the bright flash of light and loud kawoosh of the engaging wormhole blossomed in front of her. She opened her eyes again, the gate room was bathed in the cool blue glow of the event horizon. A pair of brown loafers sat on the ramp, smoke curling up from them.
"Major Carter?"
Sam blinked her eyes to find Teal'c staring at her oddly. She struggled to cover her grin. "Yes, Teal'c?"
"Are you well?"
"Never better," she told him.
He raised an eyebrow in question, but simply nodded. "Colonel O'Neill and Jonas Quinn have already gone through the 'gate," he stated. "Shall we not join them?"
"We shall," she said, shifting her pack on her back.
He gave her a sidelong look.
And she laughed. "Sorry, I was just indulging in a little fantasy there. Nothing serious."
"Indeed," he said, a faint smile crossing his face.
"You see, when you got stuck in the Stargate, the NID sent this scientist from Area 51—" she started as they step through the event horizon.
