I stood in the middle of the cottage, pacing. Renesmee was out with Jacob. She'd be home soon, and Edward wanted to give…her the Talk.
Any parent would understand how flustering and stressful this is, right? He stands there like a rock, I glare and stop.
"Your not nervous?" I asked, eying his expression.
"Love, I'm very nervous…I'm trying to keep calm unlike you, who is pacing everywhere."
I stuck out my tongue, sitting down. Mumbling something about, "Yea, yea,". I looked at the time, three minutes until Renesmee returned.
By the time Jacob had walked in with Renesmee on his back, he caught onto the mood of the room, a light pink colored his cheeks as he sat Renesmee onto the floor.
"I gotta go, Nessie. See you tomorrow," Jacob said to Renesmee, kissing her copper curls. Jacob left, closing the door behind him, you could hear the almost silent footsteps retreating.
I looked towards Renesmee, smiling. "Sit down sweetie, Daddy and Mommy need to have a talk with you,"
Renesmee obeyed, plopping next to me, Edward kneeled in front of her, starting off this awkward chat.
"Nessie, do you know how baby's come?"
She nodded solemnly, looking into his eyes. "A stork drops them on the front porch!" Renesmee declared.
Edward smiled at her, shaking his head. "No Renesmee. They have…umm…sex," he said, looking at her.
Renesmee looked curious. "What's sex, Daddy?" she asked, looking towards me for answers.
"Sex is when a boy and a girl…umm" I begun, rubbing my arm out of habit. "Sex is when a boy and a girl get together and intertwine with each other out of love, creating cute babies like you." I smiled at her.
Renesmee nodded, "And there's more I will learn later on in my life, but you want me to wait until I'm married like you and Daddy?"
Edward smiled, I nodded. "Exactly!" We exclaimed at the same time, then laughed.
