Not Just Any Ghost Story...
This story will have two chapter's...
Happy Halloween...
My head hurts 'cos I've just read a long explanation on "Why do we have Halloween?"
Valkyrie Cain, Skulduggery Pleasant, Tanith Low, Ghastly Bespoke, Fletcher Renn and China Sorrows were sitting around a bonfire. They had gone camping. It was Skulduggery's idea, something about bonding. Their guide sat further back. He was telling them a ghost story. Trying to scare them, but not suceeding.
"She screamed to her companion, trying to escape the undoubtable future. But nothing happened. She didn't want to let the evil take over, but it was too late. There was nothing she could do. The seperate being would come out again, and she was too weak to fight it. She clasped the handle as the shadows loomed over her. She screamed as it plunged through her. Her will evaporated, but so did her soul. She came back, as a spirit. Her body was still being used. She looked at her body, and was suddenly angry. She sent a wave of energy, the energy of the dead, to it. The body fell. It became lifeless. But the damage it had done was unstoppable. The world ended."
He looked expectably at the six people. Fletcher was whimpering, but everyone else was bored.
There was an awkward silence.
"We've got a busy day tomorrow, so..." Skulduggery started.
"Can we not stay awake a little longer?" Fletcher asked, petrified.
"Are you scared of the monster's Fletcher?" Valkyrie asked.
"No!" Fletcher protested.
"The nightmares?" Tanith interupted.
"Maybe," he responded.
Valkyrie laughed.
"Do I have to be in a tent of my own?" He whined, looking longing at Valkyrie.
"Yes," Skulduggery stiffened.
Fletcher frowned.
Valkyrie was sharing a tent with Tanith, Skulduggery with Ghastly, and China refused to share a tent. So Fletcher was by himself.
"I'm scared," he moaned.
Valkyrie laughed and headed to her and Tanith's tent.
The guide grabbed her arm as she was going.
"That's not just any ghost story," he said. "That's your ghost story."
