my head swam in pools of red
all I could hear was what you had said
all I could see was you walking away
leaving me here where I lay
to ponder again about our love
to rage at the gods in the skies above
I sank, kneeling in the sand
without you, my life seemed so bland
then you stopped, and looked back
I saw your eyes, but they lacked
the flames and fire that used to burn
they had taken a drastic turn
now they held nothing but grief
the sadness of a fallen leaf
I wished I could bring back the glow
that you used to exude and show
but as I could already see
you were forever lost to me.
