This is one of my more depressing ideas, but I think it turned out pretty well. I hope you like it!!!

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom… :(

As he raced through the Ghost Zone, Danny Phantom glanced over his shoulder to see if he had lost his pursuers. Recently escaped from a painful two months in Walker's prison, he was finally nearing his ultimate goal; the Fenton Portal.

Cursing slightly under his breath as he spotted Walker off in the distance, he quickly veered off towards a small island floating in the ghostly green mists. The past few days had been spent running from Walker and his guards, and Danny was quickly running out of energy. He needed to find a place to hide and regain some of his strength before heading to the portal, which was probably swarming with ghosts waiting for him to show up. He had to be ready to fight again, and right now he was in no condition to even fly.

Crash-landing on the small piece of land, he quickly scrambled into a nearby cave, letting out a sigh of relief as the posse chasing him zoomed past. He let himself revert back into his human form but quickly realized that he would have been more comfortable in his ghost form as pain rushed through his worn body. His right arm was raw and bleeding from a particularly powerful ectoblast that had hit him while he was escaping, and various other body parts were raw and scuffed, battle wounds from the various skirmishes he'd had to face when his fatigue had allowed his pursuers to catch up.

Forcing the pain from his mind, he tried to remember what it was like to actually be free. It seemed like it had been eons since he had last been home, and the faces of his friends and family were blurry in his memory. He wondered if they had given up on him, or if they were still out trying to find him.

He slowly drifted into a semi-conscious state, fatigue taking over. Visions of his tormentors swarm before his eyes, taunting him with their leering faces. He was suddenly back in his small cell, a flashing green whip descending down on his already sore arm again and again. What seemed like ages later it stopped, but a piercing scream took its place. Finding himself slowly lifting in the air, he hovered over Walker who was now beating a huddling group of frightened people. They each looked gaunt and hopeless, their eyes filled with pain and despair.

"Danny…" One of the smaller figures called out his name, reaching a withered hand up towards him. He gasped as he recognized the pale face—Sam. He quickly scanned the other faces, immediately recognizing them all. Walker had his family.

Sitting up with a gasp, Danny let out a small cry as pain shot up his injured arm. He closed his eyes and clutched at the wound, the pressure of his grasp easing the torture.

"No." His own voice startled him; it had been too long since he'd talked, and his voice was grating and raspy. Forcing himself to his knees, he tested out his strength. He had to get home; there was no way he'd let his vision come true.

Struggling back up to his feet, he forced himself into his ghost form and flew out of the cave, slowly managing his way back to the one place he knew he was safe; home.

Yeah, I know it's pretty short, but I feel like this is enough…somehow all of my oneshots seem to turn out to be really short. Please review!!!
