Summery: This is my take on how Tonks and Lupin first met.

Nymphadora Tonks who preferred to be called Tonks couldn't wait. Today was her fifth birthday and her cousin Sirius was going to come to visit.
She was sitting in the sitting room when there was a knock on the door; she jumped down from the chair and ran to the door, "Mammy, mammy open the door Sirius is here."
Andromeda is coming down the stairs at the time. "Hold on a minute Nymphadora he's not going to go anywhere."
"Mum don't call me Nymphadora I don't like to be called that."
As soon as Andromeda opens the door Tonks runs and jumps into Sirius's arms.
"Hey there birthday girl. How are you?" he says with a big smile.
"Hi Sirius, I'm great. Did you get me a present?"
He just laughs. "Of course I did but you'll have to wait till later to open it. I'd like you to meet a friend of mine Remus Lupin."
She looks past Sirius to see another man standing there.
She gives him a big smile. "Hello Remus it's lovely to meet you."
He smiles back. "Hello Nymphadora, it's lovely to meet you to."
"Don't call me that I don't like that name. Everyone calls me Tonks."
"Very well Tonks it is then."
"So are you going to let me in or not I'm hungry."
"You're always hungry Sirius. Come in my party will be starting soon."
She steps back to allow them to come in. She keeps watching Remus; she thinks he is a very nice person. Sirius notices that she keeps watching him.
"I think someone has a crush on our Remus."
"I do not." She says quickly, turning red.

An hour later and her party has started. She's opened all her presents and now everyone is dancing. She watched as Sirius dances with her mum. Looking around the room she see's Lupin just sitting down. She walks over and stands in front of him.
"Come and dance with me Remus."
"Maybe later Tonks."
"Are you sick Remus, because you look sick?"
He smiles at her.
"No I'm not sick. I'm just tired."
"Ok, will you dance with me now?"
"Sure, let's go."
She drags him into the middle of the floor and the two of them dance for ages.
"Remus will I see you again?"
"Sure you will Dora, but it might be a while."
"I like Dora. How long is a long time?"
"I don't know how long."
"But no matter how long it is you'll never forget me."
"I could never forget you Dora. Promise."
Tonks whole face lights up.
"You really promise Remus."
Sirius who is watching the two of them and she's how happy Tonks is smiles.
He looks at his watch and realizes that its time to go, so he heads over to were Tonks and Remus are dancing.
"Hey guys sorry to be a spoil sport Tonks but Remus and I have to go."
Tonks puts on a sad face. "Do you have to go?"
"Don't look at me that way Tonks. I'm afraid we have to go."
"Ok but you better come back soon and visit."
She jumps up and gives them both a big hug.
She walks them as far as the door.
"Don't forget your promise Remus."
"I will never forget it. See you again Dora."
"Bye Remus. Bye Sirius."
