Finally! I've always wanted to do a Claymore Fanfic! This is going to be mostly OC based, and is going to take place roughly a few months before the start of the War in the North saga of the manga. I wanted to show a different side of the Claymores, and what's been happening during the seven year gap.
And now for the disclaimer!
Disclaimer: I do not own Claymore nor any of its characters. I do however own the OC's.
Now that that's been taken care of, let's begin the story!
The Biggest Claymore: Antianara
Scene 1, A Run in With Something Solid
My name is Luceril, and I live in a world that is inhabited by both human and monster. I lost my parents to yoma a while back, and now I travel from town to town disposing any yoma that might show up. It's not easy fighting monsters like them, and plus it really is not my job. It's a job for those Claymores.
What are Claymores one might ask? They are women warriors who appear to be human but are really half-human, half-yoma. Weird huh? I heard that all of them have silver eyes and platinum blond hair. They also wear gray uniforms with several pieces of fine silver armor. What's up with them and silver? Anyways, the reason we call them Claymores is because of the large sword they all carry on their backs. Although they are often referred to as 'silver eyed witches' even though they save people everyday, they are shunned by our society. They can be pretty scary too at times. Have you ever looked into a Claymore's eyes directly before? I think not, I doubt you've seen them when they fight. Their eyes glow yellow and even more monster like. Truly a scary sight. I thought that way too a while back. I always thought they were freaks, that is, until I was saved by one.
Contrary to what many people believe, my parents did not die because of a yoma had eaten them, but they had passed away from natural causes. I only had myself to take care of. One day I was out walking in the street and I was attacked by a yoma. I ran for it. It was not long however that I was cornered. I thought it was going to be the end for us, but suddenly, literally out of nowhere, this Claymore shows up and runs her sword through that yoma. Blood was spattered everywhere. I can't remember her face anymore, but I remembered I was so grateful that she saved me, even though she probably did it loads of times. I had admired their power and skill, and decided to teach myself the sword.
That was a several years ago. Now, let's fast forwards a few more years. I was about sixteen at this time. I was traveling through one of the smaller towns, having an errand I had to do. I noticed a small boy a little younger than myself carrying a long package on his back, most likely a sword. He looked pretty beat up. He had several scars on his face, and his clothes were very worn out. I decided to hold off on my errand and help him out.
I ran up to him and called, "Hey kid, you alright?"
"Yeah, I am." The boy responded.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Raki, I come from the south." The boy answered.
"I'm Luceril, I come from the town of Camaro."
He and I talked for some time. For how long, I'm not sure, but by the time we were done, the sun was already low on the horizon and I had learned more about Claymores with Raki in less than a day, than I would have other wise in a month. I was surprised that he would talk about the Claymore warriors so much, especially about one in particular, Claire. He and I shared a similar fascination with them.
He wanted to be strong enough to protect her. I admired him that he would do something like that, but I also thought he was being impractical. How could a human being be able to protect a Claymore? It's not like they actually need protecting. Still, he left not too long afterwards, and I left to finish my errand.
I suppose that's when I really started becoming fascinated with Claymores. I suppose this could be because I was around that age, where you start gawking at pretty girls in the street, and start thinking, oh wouldn't you want to be with that girl? No one could deny that the secretive organization had some really pretty women in its ranks. Heck, one time I walked into a bar to grab some grub, and I saw a guy actually flirting with a Claymore. I don't remember the details, but I can say that it really didn't end up well for him.
Anyways, a few months later I was off in another town, not too far from Camaro, and I think I walked in right at the perfect time. The town was cheering and in an uproar. I'm guessing by the citizen's actions, their town had just been saved from a yoma attack. I was running down an alleyway, turned onto a larger street, I turned my head for one second and next thing I knew I had ran into something very solid and firm. Needless to say that I bounced back several feet and sprawled on the ground. I had a few minor scrapes but that was nothing, what really annoyed me was who would build a wall in the middle of the street. Well turns out that a smooth and rather silky voice, a female one at that, came out in front of me, "Ooh, sorry about that, do you need a hand?"
I was shocked, and now embarrassed that I had walked into a girl like that, my eyes had been focused on the ground and any major cuts, so I didn't have a chance to look up yet. When I finally turned to face her, I can tell you right now that I nearly passed out at the sight.
