I looked over the edge of the bridge, steeling my nerves for what was about to come. Finally, all the pain and heartache will be gone. Slowly, I climbed on top and steadied myself. I took one last look around. As expectided, I saw no one. Concidering it was 1 am on a tuesday, I'm not surprised. I closed my eyes and prepared for the end.

"What are you doing?" asked an unfamiliar voice, breaking the silence. I opened my eyes and saw someone staring at me. He was tall with a nice swimmer's build, messy black hair, and sea green eyes. A long time ago, I'd have called him cute. Now I call him a nuisance.

"What do you want?" I snapped at him, turning myself around to face the water.

"Wondering what you're doing." He repeated.

"I'm taking a picture, what does it look like I'm doing." Man this guy was annoying.

"Looks like a mistake to me." he stated plainly, sitting against the wall I was standing on.

"Please go away." I said, not turning around.

"Why, so you can jump?" he chuckled.

"Yeah, you don't sound to concerned," I pointed out, now looking at him.

"That's because there's nothing to be concerned about. If you truely wanted to jump, you'd have ended it by now. I'm not worried." Man this guy was a jerk.

"Maybe, the reason I haven't jumped yet is because some idiot is
destracting me." I huffed.

"MmHmmm, and what is it that's driving you to jump?" he asked, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Ha!," I laughed. "Like I'd tell you. You wouldn't understand even if I did."

"True," he started pulling out a notepad from his pocket. "Then here's an easier question, do you want white roses at your funerul or blue?"

"What does that have to do with anything?!" I asked, completely stupefied.

"I wanna know what to bring to your funeral, so wich color?" he asked again, pen in hand.

"Aren't you gonna try and talk me down?" I asked.

"Why, it's your choice to do this and what say does, but a humble stranger, have in this. Speaking of which, what's your name?"

"Why do you wanna know that?! Your questions are really starting to bother me."

"So I know what to put on the card." He said as though it were the most obvious reason. "Hmmmm, you look like a Jasmine."

"Annabeth! My name is...Annabeth."

A smile of victory sread across his face. "Hmmmmm Annabeth, what a pretty name. So tell me Annabeth, what color strikes your fancy?"

"Blue." I answered, fighting back a blush from the complement.

"I thought so." he grinned, writing something down on his note pad. When the sound of his pen on paper lasted WAY longer then it takes to write my name and 'blue roses' I knew something was up.

"Hey, what are you writing?" I turned around.

"Nothing!" He picked up the pace in his writing.

"Give it hear!" I reached for the pad but missed.

"Gotta catch me!" he said, taking off.

I charged toward him and managed to knock him off his feet. Unfortinetly, we ended up rolling until I was completely under him and our faces were centimeters apart. I felt my cheeks heat up as he whispered in my ear "Tag, you're it."

"For the first time in a long time, I broke into a heartfelt laugh. "You're so dumb!" I laughed as he picked me up.

"Oh whatever, I got you off the bridge didn't I." he smiled. Suddenly I realized he was right. "Anyway, I need to get home, see you later Annabeth." He said and kissed my cheek. I turned around to yell at him, but he had already dissapeared. I sighed and put my hands in my pockets. Suddenly, I felt a piece of paper crumple up in my hand. I pulled out the paper, suprised to see that it was the same kind that the boy was using. The note read.

Dear Annabeth,

It's a shame for a pretty lady like you to go like this.
How about we meet again under better circumstances. I
know this great pizzaria we can go too, my treat.

555-5555

sincearly, Percy Jackson

Annabeth smiled to herself as she read the note again before walking home. "Hmmmmm Percy, cute name."
