096. Writer's Choice – Flowers

'This is embarrassing and utterly stupid.' The silver haired man thought to himself as he carefully selected his offering. He wasn't going to mess up this opportunity, he would go to Angeal's quarters, present him with the selected item(s), and promptly ask him to dinner. There was no reason to be overly picky, no reason to be flustered, and certainly no reason to be pacing as the woman got what he requested.

So why was he doing all three?

Sephiroth exited the store quickly after paying a rather large sum of gill for his gift and headed back to the ShinRa compound. It was 1700 hours and he wasn't going to be late. Having mentally prepared himself, and with a bit of help from Genesis he didn't quite want to admit he'd requested, he was ready to take on this challenge.

"You're planning on buying him what?" Genesis questioned, dusting off his coat with a chuckle. "No, no, no, my dear friend. You do not bring a weapon for a love interest as incentive to go have dinner with you."

"Well then, what do you suggest I get him? If you're so well versed in the ways of gaining affection, you should know the perfect gift."

"It just so happens, I do." Genesis replied, grinning widely to his companion.

From there Genesis had given him highly detailed instructions on what to purchase and where, Sephiroth reluctantly thanking him afterward.

Reaching out, Sephiroth cleared his throat before making three swift knocks on the door to Angeal's quarters. His left arm was somewhat to the side, his hand behind him. After a few moments of silence, the silver haired First Class rapped on the door three more times. This time, however, he was greeted with a shuffling noise instead of silence.

Angeal got to the door quickly after the second brief round of knocks. Opening the door, he saw a very odd looking Sephiroth. He had his normal serious expression, but was looking slightly to the side and up, as if avoiding eye contact with Angeal. "Hey there, Sephiroth." He said, the corner of his mouth turned up in a smile though he looked a bit confused.

The silver haired man cleared his throat a bit, his eyes going to Angeal, though his head was still turned to the side a bit and tilted. "These are for you." He said briefly, his left hand bringing around a beautiful arrangement of flowers, offering them to the raven haired man.

Angeal stared at Sephiroth for a few moments, his brows knitting for a second as he continued to stare. Soon he started to chuckle though, that chuckle then turning to a loud and hearty laughter. Never before had he seen the man look so uncomfortable or so far out of element. Angeal laughed long and hard, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye he stepped back a bit as Sephiroth shoved the bouquet to his chest and marched in.

A/N: Reviews are welcomed. :3 I really enjoyed writing this one because I had the idea for a day and kept giggling at the scene; seeing it finished and written down makes me very happy.
