Hello all! After I published my little short on David and Emma called "Contentment" someone requested a Mama Snow version. I shall be happy to oblige. Enjoy

Making dinner was something that Snow hadn't done in a while. After having her precious little prince, she devoted most of her time to him, and Charming being well, the charming person he is, always offered to make dinner so that she could spend more bonding time with her precious little baby.

The boys, however, were having a "guy's night out." The "boys" were Charming, Hook, Robin, and Henry. The fact that Henry was going with them made Snow feel incredibly better. At least there was a chance that they wouldn't go home wasted as trash.

Snow looked over from her spot in the kitchen to see Emma holding little baby Neal. She had him propped up on her legs, allowing him to look at her while she talked to him. Snow had to smile at her daughter who seemed to be an expert on babies. Emma seemed very calm and comfortable with her brother. Perhaps that fake memories of taking care of Henry that Regina gave Emma stuck with her.

"You two alright over there?" Snow asked.

"Perfectly fine, aren't we buddy?" Emma said, not taking her eyes off of her brother.

Snow smiled as she plated up the dinner and placed it on a tray to bring over to the couch.

"Hey Mom?" Emma called, her voice rising in pitch slightly.

"What is it Emma?"

"Has Neal ever given a full out smile before?"

"Uh, no he hasn't. Why?" Snow said as she picked up the tray and placed it on the coffee table.

"Well you might want to check this out because he just won't stop smiling."

Snow raised her eyebrow and she quickly sat next to Emma. True enough, there was her little baby just smiling up at his big sister.

"I blew on his face a little to blow off some fuzz and all the sudden he was just smiling. Here watch."

Emma lightly blew a puff of air into the little baby's face. His eyes squinted slightly and his face scrunched up before letting off a huge smile in the direction of his sister. Snow's heart seemed to be melting at the sight, although a sudden pang of jealousy hit her.

Her little baby boy's first big smile was at his sister and not her. However, upon studying Emma's face, the jealousy was gone. Snow had realized that Emma was just like her. Emma had also given up her child to give him a better chance. Her daughter had missed everything that she did: First smile, first laugh, first word, first everything.

Snow had plenty of firsts that she could have of her son. Giving one of those firsts to her daughter who must feel the same pain every time she looks at HER son seemed to be quite fair. Besides, isn't that what a mother is supposed to do? Aren't they supposed to let their kids have something to make them happy? Yes, yes they are.

"Hey mom?"

"Yes Emma?"

"Do you think that since he gave me his first smile, that his first word will be 'Emma'."

Snow's face scrunched up as she saw her daughter smiling at her cheekily.

"You'll have to compete with your father. He is quite certain that it will be 'Dada'."

Emma chuckled and kissed her brother's forehead.

"Then I guess I should start now."

Emma began playfully saying her name over and over to the little baby, who just continued to smile up at her with not a care in the world.

"Hey Mom?" Emma said with a smile as she looked over at her mother.

"Yes Emma?" Snow asked, eyebrows raised.

"I love you."

Snow's eyes widened as she heard the words. She could barely believe her ears. Her throat became dry as she tried to say something back to her daughter.

"I love you too, Emma." Snow smiled widely and kissed her daughters head just like Emma had done to little baby Neal a minute ago.

This is happiness.
