Kris is running from his house. He bumped into Leila and landed on his back.
"Are you ok" Leila asked leaning down. "My. My parents I don't know where they are" Kris stuttered.
"You poor boy" Leila said helping him up. "How about I help you find them" Leila said.
"No. They told me not to find them" Kris started. "Oh you poor boy. How about you come with me" Leila said.
"I don't know" Kris said a little scared. "I won't hurt you" Leila said. She offered him her hand.
He took it. She led him to her car
(At her house)
Leila opened the car door. Kris slowly got out and followed her when she walk towards the house.
She opened the door and walked in. "You can sit down I'll make you some cocoa" Leila said.
"Thanks" Kris said. "Adam honey are you upstairs" Leila called. "Yeah Mom. Me and Allison will be down soon" Adam yelled.
Leila gave Kris the cup. Kris took a drink of it. Leila sat across from him.
"So honey what's your name" Leila asked. "I'm Kris" Kris said before taking another drink.
"Leila" Leila said. Adam and Allison came downstairs laughing."He looked so stupid" Allison said between giggles.
They stopped laughing when they saw Kris. "Mom I know you're lonely but bringing a boy about my age to" Adam trailed off.
"It's not like that" Leila interrupted. "Then what's it like" Adam said crossing his arms.
"Maybe I should go" Allison said. "You don't have to do that" Adam told her.
"No it's fine see you at class" Allison said and gave Adam a kiss on the cheek and left.
"Kris this is my son Adam" Leila said. Kris put out his hand but Adam just looked at it.
Kris put his hand back and put it in his pocket. "Adam can I talk to you in private.
Kris you're welcome to stay here until we find you a home" Leila said. "Thanks maam" Kris said.
"How about you go to the guest room. Go downstairs to the left ok" Leila said.
"Ok. Thanks again" Kris said. "No problem" Leila said. Kris went downstairs.
"What do you think you're doing letting him stay here" Adam said grinding his teeth. '
"He has no place to go" Leila said. "He doesn't have a family" Adam asked.
"His family doesn't want him" Leila said. "Well I don't want him either" Adam said.
"Adam he is staying here whether you like it or not" Leila said.
"Fine. but don't expect me to like it" Adam said and stormed upstairs.
Kris put out his hand and the blanket flew to him. He laid it down on the bed and waved his hand over it.
The blanket unwrinkled. He smiled. The door knocked He ran to open it and saw Adam standing there.
"Listen buddy" Adam said. "My name is Kris" Kris said.
"Kris you better stay clear of me ok. Any room that I'm in you stay out of it" Adam warned.
Kris crossed his arms and walked up to him. "You think I'm afraid of you" Kris said.
"You should be" Adam said getting into Kris' face.
They stared at each other daring each other to back down until both of them heard a knock.
Adam opened the door. "Didn't know you were down here Adam" Leila said.
"I was just seeing if the guest was settled" Adam said. "That is so sweet" Leila said.
"Kris I hope your comfortable". "I am thanks maam" Kris said. "Please call me Leila" Leila said.
Adam rolled his eyes and left the room. "Don't mind him ok" Leila said.
"Ok thanks again Leila" Kris said. "You're welcome" Leila said and hugged him.
Kris hugged her back. She went upstairs. Kris lied down on the bed.
