Chapter 1
A Normal Night?
Kogoro sat at his desk and downed another beer, he looked toward his fairly new desktop computer and eyed it with hatred. Economy was not his thing he'd rather be out fighting crime or throwing some murderer in jail except here he was sitting in his office at home doing some data analysis for a small business he worked for. This was anything but what he wanted to do for a living, he walked to the kitchen and pulled out some leftover noodles from the night before and placed them in the microwave, turned it on and left it to do its thing. Suddenly a ringing pierced the silence he was thoroughly enjoying he walked over to the phone and took it off its hook.
"Hello, this is Mouri Kogoro how may I help you?" He stated
"Otousan?" A familiar voice rang from the other side of the phone, now that he thought about it he hadn't talked to Ran much ever since she married Shinichi he pushed the thought aside and replied to Ran in a very casual matter
"Do you need something?" Kogoro questioned.
"Well I need a favour Otousan" She answered with a slightly worried voice "I will-"Kogoro heard a loud CRASH! In the background "Having fun raising kids?" He smirked "It's not kids dad, It's Okasan!" She shouted into the phone causing Kogoro to rapidly move it away from his ear then to quickly put it back again. "I'm already uninterested." He scoffed quickly hanging up bringing the home back to its peaceful silence.
Kogoro looked toward the digital clock perched 7:15 pm… He walked toward the TV then stopped Its Friday! Not damn Thursday! He looked toward the TV in disappointment he could really use a Yoko lift right now his mind floated into a daydream of Yoko Okino singing on a stage until it was harshly interrupted by a knocking on the door he lazily went to the door and opened it he saw who it was and slammed the door in Ran and Eri's faces
"I have a present!" She quickly shouted, Kogoro opened the door cautiously "May I ask what it is?" He puzzled "As long as you take Okasan!" She replied holding Eri who was pointing at a small light saying something about a 'pretty star twinkling' and trying to get out of Ran's tight grasp
"What the…" Kogoro sounded astounded "W-What happened to Eri!?" He was clearly in distress wondering what happened to his estranged wife who now seemed as dumb as ever still chiding about a 'pretty star'
"Long story short she's-" Ran was interrupted by Eri slamming on to the floor followed by a shriek of pain. Kogoro opened his mouth in astonishment What the hell is going on!? He thought to himself…
