Hello, some random drabbles I thought up a while ago, and wanted to post—not fanfictions, just random stuff out of my twisted mind.

The Wall

The wall rose, tall and dark in my path; its glossy black stones slick with water, but still as hard as ever. Ivy with iron vines and knives for leaves covered it, stretching in unbreakable webs over the rock.

I touch the wall, hot from the fires gleaming behind me. The moisture on it feels almost like sweat, as if the wall was alive.

I walk alongside it, looking for some kind of opening—even a crack—that I can look through. My feet sink into the ashes as I search for something I will not find. I know I will never see what is beyond the wall, but I try all the same.

A particularly vicious leaf cuts my hand and a drop of blood falls on the wall. It is absorbed almost instantly, becoming part of the wall itself. Although the stones are hot, the wall gives off a chill, icing my heart and freezing my bones.

The Stars

The stars are caged and dying

The sky is fogged and crying

All is old and sad

The trees shed tears of burning red

Spirits of children long dead

Wander silently, glowing white, lost

The Tree

All the forest trees

Are green and full of life

Their leaves are soft

Their shade is welcoming

The leaves almost glow green

Even the graceful brown wood

Of the branches and trunk

Seem to hide a rich, green light

But why is this one not like the others?

The wood is dark, almost black

And scarred

The gnarled, angry branches

Reach out vainly in all directions

The leaves are brown

Hard and sharp

No birds go near

For fear of being cut

The other trees turn away

Ashamed of this one oddity in their midst

They grow taller, high above the dying tree

Hiding it, taking its light, starving it

The dark tree folds into itself

Becoming smaller and smaller

Making its leave sharper

Teaching itself to grow thorns

Pushing its roots down further and further to survive

Instead of being cut off by others

It decides to cut itself off

And so grows darker, untouchable

In its choked little clearing

But, if you get close enough

You can see the faintest bit

Of the richest green light in the forest

Hidden in the dark wood of the forgotten tree

Well, that's it. For now. I hope you liked them, even if they are a little weird, and, faintly depressing.
