It was as soon as Sebastian had disappeared out of sight, when Blaine noticed how Kurt's polite smile turned into a more angered expression. Blaine knew that look, and... well, he couldn't blame him. Blaine had felt uncomfortable during it all.
"Kurt..."
"I really don't like that guy", Kurt interuppted him, and Blaine noticed how his knuckles turned white as he clutched onto his mug of coffee. Blaine didn't know what to say. He had no idea what Kurt and Sebastian had been talking about while he had 'escaped' to get some more coffee. He was sure it had nothing to do with going out and drink again, as Sebastian had stated.
"He will give up eventually", Blaine finally said softly. "We both know he doesn't stand a chance." He reached out to take Kurt's free hand, and he gave it a gentle squeeze of reassurance.
"I know, but..." Kurt began anxiously. "You didn't hear him, Blaine. The way he talked about you, as if you're some kind of... price to win. He also mocked my face."
"He mocked your face?"
"Blaine..."
"Right. Sorry." Blaine sighed, and squeezed his hand again. "Listen to me, Kurt", he said softly. "There is no way that I'm going to let him have his way. You hear that? No way. I have the most perfect boyfriend. Sebastian may be attractive, but-"
If looks could kill, then Blaine surely would be dead right now, as Kurt was currently glaring at him.
"-but he is not you", he continues. "Kurt... remember when I told you that Sebastian doesn't mean anything to me? Well, I meant every single word. You, on the other hand... You mean the world to me. You are the strongest person I have ever met. I love you because you inspire me so much, because you make me feel like a person. Sebastian doesn't do that. I'm only an object to him."
He could see how Kurt melted at his words, and Blaine let out a soft breath, because he had been afraid that he had said the wrong things for a while. That didn't seem to be the case.
"I trust you, Blaine. I really do", Kurt said softly. "And you have the ability to make me fall more in love with you only by using a few words." He tangled his fingers with Blaine's, and gave him a sweet smile that caused Blaine's heart to hammer hard against his chest.
"We should go and 'practice' for sectionals", Kurt then said, and a mischievous smirk was shown on his face. Blaine laughed softly, and then they left together.
