"I heard you were taking it pretty hard." Craig said as he took a seat next to his blond haired blue eyed friend. He had found him at his favorite place, the bench at Starks pond. It was a cold day, like every other day in South Park. But it seemed even worse than normal with the onset of autumn in the air.
Kenny had been staring absently mindedly at the frozen pond, trying to remember how many times they had skated on it together. "Yeah, it's not setting so well." He said, smiling softy back at the iced over water.
Craig hadn't seen Kenny like this before. The blond was known for being a heart breaker but he hadn't realized someone would come along break his own one day. "Hey, it'll be okay." Craig finally spoke after a moment of silence; he placed a hand on Kenny shoulder in an act of comfort. "Anyone would go out with you; you've got girls and boys pretty much throwing themselves at your feet, man."
The shorter teen's smile widened but Craig could see his eyes starting to shine as they watered up. "It's funny how there are so many of them, but their so hard to find." Craig's frown deepened, it was worse than he had originally thought. "He steals you with hello and you can't break free. The trouble with Kyle is that he's so damn perfect."
The sun was starting to set causing a glistening reflection over the already frozen pond. Craig shook his head sadly. "You really love him huh?" He asked, already knowing the answer.
"Nobody loves trouble as much as me." He laughed this time, quickly swiping at a tear that had escaped and sniffling slightly. "I always knew this would happen, why would I ever be good enough for him?" He glanced at Craig for the first time since he had arrived. "Let's face it Craig, I'm not Stan and if I'm not Stan I'm practically nothing."
"That's not true, you have no idea what you could mean to someone." He pulled his hat down farther over his ears, hating the weather. If it wasn't for the middle McCormick child he wouldn't even be there. "You just haven't found the right one yet." He insisted.
"He smiles that smile and it's like everything falls into pace. He steals you with hello and kills you with goodbye." He said again as he tried his best to hide his tears, but he could feel his world crashing down around him and there wasn't anything he could do to stop it from happening.
Craig sighed and threw his arm over Kenny's shoulder this time, pulling him a little closer. He knew what it was like to love someone but not have those feelings returned, to hold onto just a little hope that maybe someday they'll realize how much they love you after all.
