It was just a kiss.

His eyes boring into her soul. Her heart searching his for answers.

It was just a kiss.

His lips parting her own, his arms encircling her waist.

It was just a kiss.

Her heart beating a million beats a second, her arms pressing against his
chest.

It was just a kiss.

A foreign feeling, a private surrender.

It was just a kiss.

Not the first for either, but something new, something.mysterious and
wonderful and so wrong
But it felt so right. She fit there, in his arms, perfectly; she could
taste the sun on his skin, scorching the depths of her soul. It radiated
off him and she felt the heat in her very core.

She had been frozen for so long. Nothing cracked it. Her façade was strong
and thick, hiding years and Years of cold. She had succumbed to it, but
felt herself suddenly needing the heat, needing to feel.human. He could
give that to her. Give her back everything that had been stolen from her,
so long ago.

It was just a kiss.

But it was so much more. It was so much deeper, and god if she could just
kiss him forever she would ask nothing more of the lord that ruled her.

It was just a kiss.

A kiss.with a human; a lycan. It was forbidden. Suddenly she was afraid.
She needed to get away, it was too hot, new emotions that burnt too deep,
and so she did the only thing she knew how.

She pulled away, making sure he could not come after her. She put it behind
her, closing her eyes tight, not thinking about it.

Humans were weak. Humans were stupid and not supposed to get involved.

It was just a kiss.

She'd had plenty before, and was not about to let him get to her.

It was just a kiss.

Another step off the trail, another step to something that she did not
know.

It was just a kiss.

Another ending, or another beginning, she couldn't tell. But sometimes
beginnings are endings anyway.

It was just a kiss.

So why when she touched her lips did they still tingle at the touch? Why
was she dizzy? Why was her heart tugging at her conscience; "Go back!" it
said. "Go back!" she shook her head. This was not going to break her. No
human was going to break her.

"Why are you doing this?" He asked her. Why? HA! He had NO idea. No idea
that the very thought of real emotion touching her again scared the hell
out of her.

No idea that whenever she looked at him, her knees got a little weaker; her
breath hitched just a little.

No idea that whenever she looked at him, she thought of a better place.
Away from war and death and this life.

Away from this life.

But it was just a kiss.
