Prologue: John's Demise
Lynn Denlon looked at the young woman who stood before her, completely distressed, "Amanda, I want you to listen, John-."
The younger woman burst into tears, "Don't you dare tell me that John is dead, I care for him too much!"
Well, thought Lynn, I can't just stand here while she cries, "Come here, shh, it's okay." The doctor took the weeping woman into her arms until she felt a click on her shotgun collar.
She braced herself for death but was surprised when she felt the device lift from her neck and explode 100 feet away, She opened her eyes and looked at Amanda puzzled, "I, I just don't want to be alone." Amanda clung to Lynn.
"If you want, we could carry on John's work together."
Together, this woman must be losing it.
Lynn thought about protesting, but instead she gave Amanda a warm smile, "I accept, if I can live with you, there's no denying that Jeff wants to kill me right about now." Lynn chuckled, which amused Amanda.
Taking Lynn's hand, Amanda led the surgeon to her apartment, but not before paying her final respects to John.
"Goodbye John... I love you." Amanda kissed the cold forehead of her mentor and, before closing the door muttered, "Sadly, this place has become your tomb, game over."
