Nathan dug his head deeper into the pillow, overwhelmed by the simple warmth of the bed. Still, there was the incessant feeling that someone was poking him in the side, mostly because someone actually was.

"Not yet." He barely managed to say, his voice muffled heavily. To emphasize his discontent he turned on his side opposite to his wife, mumbling incoherently something about taking a day off.

"Nathan..." Marni chimed. He felt her hand snake across his chest as she brought herself closer towards him. A slight twitch of a smile flickered at the corners of his mouth as she nestled her head against his neck. God, how he loved her. Even in the brutal hours of the morning she was incredibly full of life. Every word spoken, every action she made always had a purpose. He had never been much for emotion or sentiment but there was something about Marni that made his heart caper. Such feelings had made a fool out of him more than once.

Only to please her, Nathan drew his hand over hers, gingerly placing his fingers in the spaces in-between. "Nearly seven perfect surgeries yesterday and I can't take a sick day?" Nathan inquired stubbornly. Although she couldn't see his face she was sure his eyebrows were furrowed together, eyes just slightly narrowed as he attempted to puzzle out what her response was going to be.

"A Repo man works all-day and all night." She said matter-of-factly, which was strange because, one: he wasn't a Repo man, and two: refer back to one.

Unable to move much, he simply raised his head a little, "I don't understand what you..." Nathan allowed himself to trail off, unsure of what to say, and how to say it. He wasn't overly fond of talking things out, mostly becauseof the fact that he never knew what was right to say.

"You're a monster Nathan, sleep would only torment you." Her whispered words burned his ear as she spoke and suddenly she felt very distant from him. What was she even saying? Nathan quickly pulled his head away from her, his mind frantically trying to process her harsh conjecture."Marni, what are you-" He turned around but she was gone, a ghost, a fragment of a memory. Within a split moment his body turned cold, eyes void of any discernable emotion.

A dream, a past, a memory, a regret...

Marni, Forgive me.
