A/N: OK, this is not really a fic, it's just an idea I had when I was bored in my bedroom. I was actually doing this in my room and I started thinking about Leggy and making weird random links. So basically, this is just a little fantasy but it sounds cool so I'm letting you read it. Also, apologies for the awful and obvious use of a line from the film. But there's no changing it now!

BORED IN IMLADRIS

Legolas was bored. He paced the stone floor, willing his mind to come up with an idea. No such luck.

There was a little round ball in the corner of the room under a chair. Legolas noticed it suddenly and was drawn to it. He looked around the empty room for signs of life. No-one. He knelt sown and picked up the ball.

He walked around the room again, tossing the ball from one hand to the other. He was still bored.

In exasperation, Legolas threw the ball at the wall in front of him. To his surprise, it bounced back at him. An idea came to him in a flash. He began throwing the ball at the wall and catching it on its rebound. Ten in one hand, ten in the other, then twenty. Simple.

Then he turned around and threw the ball over his shoulder. He heard the thud of its contact with the wall and whirled round in order to catch it. Too slow.

He tried again and again, laughing like a child. Legolas felt youthful again and it was a brilliant feeling. He was completely absorbed in the throwing and catching of the ball.

Legolas threw the ball at each wall, catch after catch. Then it escaped him. He ran towards the courtyard, the direction it had gone in. First he checked under the chairs, on his knees with his hands reaching out across the floor.

"Now there's a sight you don't see every day," Gimli said from the doorway.

Legolas shot up. "Gimli!" he said in surprise. "I was just – "

"– looking for this?" Arwen finished. She stood in the courtyard with the small ball held between her thumb and forefinger. She waved it at him, smiling cheekily.

"If you'll permit me to say, lady," Legolas tried to say with dignity. "How long have you been there?"

"Oh, long enough. Now," she said in mock consideration. "Wouldn't you like to continue your game?"

"Well..." Legolas stammered.

"Come and claim it, Legolas," Arwen grinned at him, teasing him with the little toy.

Legolas smiled and, quick as a flash, leaped towards her. Arwen darted out of his path, laughing at his efforts. He began to chase her around the room, side-stepping and trying to catch her out whenever possible.

He managed to get his arms around her waist and hold her in a most inappropriate position for people of their stature. Arwen giggled and called out, "Gimli!"

Gimli, who had been standing in the doorway, chuckling at the folly, effortlessly caught the ball. With a little more effort, he tried to escape Legolas and his desire for the ball.

The three were laughing like young children. Legolas had managed to gain hold of the ball, but both Gimli and Arwen were wrestling him for it, Arwen was trying to grab hold of his arms and Gimli his legs and waist.

"Ahem!"

Arwen and Gimli leapt away from Legolas and the three hurriedly brushed down their clothes and hair in an attempt to look presentable.

"What is all this?" Aragorn asked.

"Well...we...er," Legolas was at a loss for words.

"Playing a game?" Aragorn declared. "Having fun?" He broke into a mile. "And without me?"

Arwen laughed and ran to him. "I'm sorry, my love," she said. "Next time we will include you, I promise."

Aragorn placed his arm around her and gestured towards the courtyard. Arwen held out her arm to Legolas who tucked it firmly under his. He then placed his hand on Gimli's shoulder and guided him out of the door. The friends laughed, joy and peace filling the air around them

And Legolas was no longer bored.
