AN: This is for DaniZaraki and her awesomeness that is Consider Yourselves Kitties and Man, I Miss the Kitties. The adjusted lyrics are from When You're Gone by Avril Lavigne.

Alice sat on her bed, contemplating not sleeping that night. Her weasel and her shark were out on a mission and even though she still had Sable (said wolf was annoying Hidan by scratching on his door while he was praying), she still felt horrible. Hidan was doing an extensive ritual and Kathryn and Deidara were already asleep, as were her leaders most likely. Kakuzu was counting his money, so she didn't want to bother him and Sasori was working on her puppets, but for all she worth she wasn't up for a sarcasm battle.

She just wanted her weasel. She had assured him that she would be alright and that she would try to sleep, and she hadn't lied; she had tried. But whenever she closed her eyes she saw the deaths of two of her most favorite people and she almost teared up. She just felt so…alone without him.

She sighed and rose from her bed, glancing in her vanity mirror. She was a mess; her hair was everywhere and she had dark circles under her eyes…she was surprised everyone else didn't notice she was upset. Or maybe they did…and just didn't want to be around her. Being away from Itachi was hazardous to her personality.

She sighed and flopped back down on the bed, muttering to herself. "I never needed time on my own. I knew I would need you there when I cried."

She glanced at the calendar, it was two days since her weasel and her shark had left but it felt like an eternity. "And the days feel like years when I'm alone.

Her arms wandered to trace the comforter which she would normally find him, sometimes waking up before she did and sometimes sleeping later. But he would never leave her alone when he woke up. "And the bed where you lie is made up on your side."

Her arms shook as she took in her last moments with him when he kissed her lips and told her not to worry. She wished she could feel them on her right now. "When you walk away, I count the steps that you take. Do you see how much I need you right now?"

Her hands gripped her pillow and she shifted so she could look at her phone. Her sexy weasel stared at her, face frozen in a computerized smile. "When you're gone, the pieces of my heart are missing you…When you're gone, the face I came to know is missing too…When you're gone, the words I need to hear to always get me through the day…and make it okay…I miss you…"

Alice bit her pillow to keep from crying; she never cried, she hadn't cried when he left in the past and she wouldn't cry now. No matter how empty she felt. She was so caught up in her distress that she didn't hear the bedroom door open or Sable yip at the newcomer.

"Alice?" She made out Sasori's smooth, even tone despite the screaming going on in her head. "Pity. I thought you could last longer without the Uchiha."

Alice groaned. "I'm not in the mood for a sarcasm battle, Sasori."

Sasori frowned, watching Alice as she curled up. Usually, it only took a sarcastic comment to get her riled up…and he was hoping for that effect to get her out of her current depressed state. He saw how she was during the day, always looking so tired and so sad. He cared for her and hated how she had become in the absence of her boyfriend.

Alice opened her eyes when she felt Sasori's cool wooden hand on her forehead then on her cheek. "Your boyfriend will be home tomorrow, so try and get some sleep. If he sees you in such a state after being gone for only two days, then he'll kill all of us."

Alice grinned, "Nobody would miss you."

Sasori rolled his eyes and smirked. "Get some rest, kid."

With that, he strolled out the door and headed back to his workshop without a second glance.

Alice rolled over and stared at the wall before glancing at the picture on her phone again. "I miss you…"
