The Moon Spirit is a gentle, loving lady! She rules the sky with compassion and... lunar goodness!

-SokkaPOV

I stared at the full moon. Only one thing on my mind. I sighed sadly as I watched the moon. It's light was soft and beautiful. Just like Yue.

"Sokka, what are you doing?" I heard Suki ask me as she approached.

"Why don't you come back to the camp? The others are worried." She suggested. I stayed silent. Then, I patted the ground next to mine.

"Why don't you sit with me?" I asked her quietly. She sat down and looked at me. I just kept my gaze to the moon.

"Can I ask you something Sokka? It's been bothering me since I joined the group about 3 months ago…" Suki murmured. I nodded.

"Why do you always stare at the moon? I've seen you look at it before. I mean, I hope I'm not intruding or anything…" She whispered gently.

I tore my gaze from the Moon. To stare at Suki.

"It was awhile ago. We were in the Northern Water Tribe, so Aang and Katara could learn water bending. On our first night there we were thrown a feast, you know Avatar stuff." I rolled my eyes slightly. "During the feast the King came out. He introduced his daughter, and said something about marrying age. I just couldn't take my eyes off her. She was so beautiful." I felt a small blush appear on my face. I remembered how stupid I had acted around her.

"She was the princess of course, so I thought I'd never have a chance. But of course knowing me, I would try no matter what. And anyways, nobody can resist the Sokka." She giggled, and I chuckled weakly.

"So after some talking we met on a bridge. We talked about culture and some stuff…and we kissed. But she was torn. I could tell. So she told me we couldn't do this anymore." I took in a deep breath and frowned.

"Katara invited the water master to a battle. She wanted to prove that he was wrong about refusing to teach her. When we realized he was the man who was supposed to marry our Gran-Gran, Katara asked about them. But I guess it was an arranged marriage and our Gran-Gran left him because she didn't love him. Princess Yue left crying and I went after her to find out what was wrong."

"Turns out she was engaged." I said plainly, no emotion. "The next day we were talking and I invited her to ride on Appa. When we landed I noticed the…" I paused. "soot." I snarled.

"The fire nation had come to take over the Northern Water Tribe and take Aang. So later Yue told me she couldn't be around me anymore because it was too confusing. I was upset and angry so I joined the other warriors to fight the fire nation. Turns out she was supposed to marry the lead warrior. Turns out he was a jerk." I said sighing, and laughing. I heard Suki's weak chuckle.

"Yue's father pulled me out at the last second and gave me the job of watching his daughter… Yue." I stated laying back to see the moon.

"I found out that the moon spirit had given Yue life as a child. When Zhao took the moon spirits life… the water benders lost there water bending." I closed my eyes.

"In the end I couldn't protect her and she gave her life to the moon. The water benders got back there mojo and we got a taste of victory." I turned to look at Suki but she was turned away from me. I found out why a second later when I heard her sniffling.

"Your really crying?" I asked her. She crossed her arms. "No." Her voice was hoarse. I smile, "Oh really?" She nodded. "Really."

"I don't know…sounds like you were crying to me, is Suki turning into a pansy?" I teased. She glared at me. "Oh you did not just call me a pansy!" I got up, sensing imminent pain, and ran. Suki chased right after me.

I didn't think about the moon for the rest of the night.
