A/N: Just a short Draco and Ginny fic, basically I wanted to grasp how I feel Lucius would have lost control after the war. So enjoy. Also for Hufflepuff Homework.

Losing Grip

The atmosphere around the table was cold and awkward. No one spoke, no one made a single sound. In fact the only sounds that could be heard were the slight taps of the cutlery hitting the plates.

Ginny who was the reason for this silence only played with her food, she felt uncomfortable, out of place. Finally his hand found hers and he squeezed it softly.

"Please eat Gin," Draco said. His voice sounded out of place and echoed in the silence of the room.

"Yes, Gin, eat. You don't think we would poison you do you?" Lucius asked a sneer in his voice, in fact that sneer was almost daring as if to dare Ginny to speak.

"Father," Draco warned.

"I am merely saying that it is rude to come to someone's house, uninvited and not eat there food," he smiled mainly at Ginny who dared not to look at him and instead sunk further in her chair.

"I invited her," Draco said softly. Ginny quickly took a mouthful of food and smiled softly at her plate.

"See your not dead," Lucius said calmly. Ginny smiled up at him and nodded softly.

"Father, that is enough, Ginny is a guest," Draco said as a final warning.

"Yes, but an uninvited guest," Lucius corrected.

"I told you I invited her!" Draco said louder.

"Yes but you are not head of the house hold are you," Lucius sneered. Ginny turned to Draco and shook her head.

"I told you this was a bad idea, I am just going to go," she said standing up and moving away from Draco's touch.

"Thank you." then she left quickly going out the door. Lucius was smiling as he sipped at his water and Draco stood up and rounded on him.

"You have to get use to her being here," Draco said, his voice was calm, for now.

"I will get use to nothing when it comes to my house," Lucius said.

"Then get use to me not being here," Draco said leaving to find Ginny.

"Lucius!" Narcissa snapped. Lucius, who barely remembered her presence, looked up with a shocked expression at her harsh tone. "We will lose him forever. I know you don't care but he is my son, I want to be able to see him. I want him to feel free to come in and out as he pleases. You will have to learn to like her, or so help me I will leave," she said softly standing up.

"I will not agree with him being a traitor!" Lucius spat. Narcissa turned around and shook her head.

"No Lucius, you are just scared that for once you don't have control over your son," she said.

"Where are you going?" he asked, it was uncommon but not unknown but Lucius had a slight worried tone to his voice. Narcissa turned back and starred at him as if looking at a new man.

"I am going to find our son," she said before leaving Lucius in the dining room alone.
