It was a cold, but bright day at Number 4 Privet Drive. All alone Harry sat on his bed looking at his picture book. He heard a noise at his window so he put his picture book on the bed next to him. He got up and went next to the window and saw Hedwig. "What do you have there?" He asked taking the letter from her. He looked at the handwriting and immediately recognized it to be Hermione Granger's. He was happy to see it was from Hermione. He sat back on his bed and opened the letter. It read:
Dear Harry, How are you? I hope the muggles are treating you right. I know that you are bored there so I asked my mum and she said that you could come over for the rest of the summer. I won't take no for n answer. I'll see you tomorrow at noon. Happy Birthday. I have a present here waiting for you. Hope you like it.
Lots of Love,
Hermione

Harry was filled with joy. He went to his desk and got parchment out of him drawer. He took his quill, dipped it in the ink and began to write back to Hermione.

Dear Hermione, I've been okay. The muggles haven't bothered with me yet. It's great to hear from you. I would love to come over. I can't wait. Thank you for the present, I'm sure I'm going to love it. Well I'll see you tomorrow at noon.
Lots of Love,
Harry

Harry folded the letter and gave it to Hedwig. "This is for Hermione" and let Hedwig out through the window and watched her until she disappeared in the night sky. Harry went to his bed and laid on it after he changed into his pajamas. He let sleep take him when he hit the pillow.
