A beautiful owl crossed the sky, houses passing in a blur bellow her powerful wings. The owl started her descent into a quiet street. She had traveled far but distance is not something she was worried about, she traveled further before. She had a mission and it was a very important mission too, she's the Messenger, the Bringer of News. Her masters entrusted her with thousands of letters. Today she had an special one, an envelope with bright green letters. This letter would change the life of a little boy, cause he was a wizard, see? And he didn't know it yet. She would change that, she had HIS letter.

It was a bright glorious morning, the owl grew excited with the end of her delivery. The young were always happy to see her this time of the year and treats were abundant. Maybe this time he will even let her stay for awhile, rest her wings, receive his praise, for she was a good owl. She knew.

Strange.

This street wasn't supposed to have so many of her kind... And near the boy house too. They better not be making her job and steeling her treats.

She circled the house, but there was no easy way in, there goes her wonderful treats. She let the envelope fall under the door and went to join the others. Her mood extensively lower. What was the boy doing? He needed to get his letter!

"There are more of them! Stupid birds! Who sends an owl with letters?" The dark haired boy exclaimed exasperated.

"Just read one already!" Came the voice of his cousin coming down the stairs "God knows that whoever send those will just keep sending you more."

The boy loved his cousin but sometimes he had the strangest ideas. Read? Who is in his right mind would read owl letters? It was only courteous to send post letters or at least pigeon ones if they were so set on bird delivery. "That just won't do. They have to sent it right" he said and proceeded to shred the envelope to pieces.

"Aren't you even a tiny bit curious though? I am and they aren't even for me!" The blond boy looked annoyed now. "If you open one the birds will probably go away. And we need them to go. The neighbors are noticing."

"Well let them, whoever sent these is the one who should feel ashamed!"

E "Why? He doesn't have a thousand birds loitering on his yard. Well, maybe he has, he seams weird..."

"I won't back down until he has done the right thing and sent a proper letter."

"Whatever, mate. They're your letters..." Dudley sighted.

A very old man was sitting in his desk, casually stroking his long white beard. The boy should have read a letter by now... He wondered if he needed to be more forceful and send more owls, groups of owls maybe? Maybe his relatives weren't letting the letters get to him. This was huge the boy needed to get to Hogwarts everything would be for naught without his schooling. He would wait a bit more before sending Hagrid. The giant would certainly be successful in bringing the kid. He couldn't do magic, but neither could the muggles.

And the owl waited.

More came.

They waited.

And waited.

This was the worst mission she ever got. And she had been looking forward to this, she just wanted her treats.
