He was fire. He burned, he scorched, he destroyed everything he touched. He had trusted Kate and because of him almost his entire family had burned. After that after he knew he had to stay away from everyone, even his sister. He had been afraid that it would happen again, that he would burn people again. Laura dying had brought him back to town and then he had had to kill his Uncle Peter. Then he made another mistake turning teenagers, exposing them to this life of danger, he had stupidly thought he could protect them and they would protect him. He was wrong, so very very wrong.
Erica had been the first one to go, Erica who had only ever wanted to be free of her seizures and to let everyone see her. Then it was Boyd, this one he had personally killed. His own claws pushing their way into his tender flesh. It didn't matter that his claws had been forced into Boyd, or the fact that Boyd tried to forgive him, because Boyd was still dead. They are were still dead and unlike Uncle Peter they were unlikely to come back, and it was all his fault. He had burned every single of them to an ember.
