The air was thin and unbelievebly cold. It wasn't harsh like one would expect, rather crisp like fresh morning air. Glistening snow blanketed the ground and sparkled a rainbow of colors in the rising sun. The eastern horizon was a pale gold, almost white, and melted into a light purple as it streacked across the endless sky. Below the emerald fields streached as far as the eye could see, only broken by the occational scarlet forest. Three faint white circles could be seen, but they were nothing compared to the four azura rivers flowing from their center. An icy mountain breeze tostled Eren's brunette hair, drawing a breathess laugh from his parted lips.
"Holy shit," he heard Levi breathe next to him. The man probably had an awed expression on his usually stotic face, but Eren couldn't tear himself away from the sight to check.
"It's so small," Armin whispered, slipping his gloved hand into Eren's. The brunette nodded, squeezing the smaller hand.
Up here everything looked small, from the thin lines that were the Walls to the hills that were really mountains. The book had left out so much, things that he knew couldn't be put into words. Or maybe they could and the author decided to hold back, not wanting to spoil the experince. He was greatful for that. This was definately not an experince meant to be spoiled.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around his chest and he didn't have to look to know that it was Mikasa. She buried her nose into his shoulder, her hot breath somehow penitrating the thick layers of his uniform. He tilted his head to the side and brushed his cheek against her head. Her soft sigh reached his ears.
"We made it," he whisper to his two best friends. Armin gripped his hand like it was going to wrenched away, something he did a lot. Mikasa pressed herself closer, shivering. It was only when he heard her breathing that he realized it wasn't from the cold. "We finally made it."
AN: So, I was gonna write a FMA fic for Oct. 3, but I decided to watch Frozen again instead. And then I listened to "Let it Go" on loop for an hour while I wrote this. So hope you enjoyed, please review, and happy Don't Forget Day to all you FMA fans out there.
