Disclaimer: Tolkien owns all.

Wonder they had; the ability to gaze upon the brilliance of the Two Trees and be awed into a silence of gold and silver.

Curiosity they had; they sought all that the Smith had to teach, worked the blessed forges during rich and prosperous years.

Talent they had; crafts so fine they devised, that the land which received them by this means was ameliorated in return.

Pride they had; their dwellings were fair and their garments rich, their princes many and their jewels – the three Great Jewels – beautiful beyond the comprehension of this world.

Knowledge they had, aye, but knowledge of the mind does not always lead to wisdom of the heart.

Author's Note: a departure from my other drabbles, perhaps.
