Prompts: Fireworks, Spilling Champagne, Falling asleep right before the new year
Spencer was standing out on the balcony of the hotel that the New Year's party was being held at. It wasn't that he was trying to be anti social it was just that he needed a breather. He wasn't use to being around so many people at once. When he felt a hand on his shoulder her jumped and ended up spilling his champagne some.
He turned his head and saw Penelope standing beside him and he leaned over and pressed his lips to hers. "How are you doing baby?"
Penelope smiled and said "I'm doing alright my Genius boy. What are you doing out here? We only have a minute before it's midnight."
Spencer smiled and put his champagne glass on the railing and then gently took Penelope's out of her hands and place it next to his before turning slightly so he could wrap his arms around her. "I just needed a breather. I would rather be out here with just you when the clock strikes midnight."
Penelope grinned and said "Oh would you now? I think that can be arranged. You know I love you right Spencer?"
Spencer nodded and kissed Penelope's head. "I know that you love me Pen. Just like you know that I love you. Where is all this coming from?"
Penelope took in a deep breath and let it out but before she could say anything fireworks lit up the sky and she heard everyone yelling Happy New Years to one another. She pulled Spencer close to her and crashed her lips onto his. She loved the way that his lips felt on hers. When she needed air she broke the kiss and looked deep into Spencer's eyes. "Happy New Years Spencer. I love you."
Spencer smiled and kissed Penelope on the head. "Happy New Years Penelope. I love you too. Now why don't you tell me what's on your mind?"
Penelope took in another deep breath and grabbed a hold of Spencer's arms that were wrapped around her. "I don't know how to say this other than to just come out and say it Spencer. I'm pregnant."
Spencer's mouth dropped open in shock and then he smiled. "I love you Penelope and you being pregnant is something that came out of that love. I was going to wait to do this but now seems like the best time. Now when I do this I don't want you to think that I'm doing it because you're pregnant. I've been thinking about when to do this because I wanted the perfect moment. I love you Penelope Garcia and I have for the longest time. You make my world complete and you make me happy. Will you marry me?"
Penelope's eyes widened as she saw the ring that Spencer held in his hand. She hadn't even been aware that he had taken one of his arms from around her because she had been listening to him talk. She saw the love in his eyes and she smiled. "I love you too Spencer Reid and I have for the longest time. Yes, yes I will marry you Spencer."
Spencer grinned and slipped the ring onto Penelope's finger and then bent his head and kissed her. He couldn't be any happier than he was in this moment. He was engaged to the love of his life and they were expecting a child. He just knew that this year was going to be the best year of his life. And it was.
