Lucy and I were friends for 10 years. In those years, we shared tons of laughs, smiles and even we shed some tears. But during the past few months it seems that we are starting to drift apart. Things start to change and it feels like that the more she spends time with our other friends and that the more they get to share secret jokes that I cannot ride on, it's breaking me bit by bit. I trusted her so much to explain things to me but she never took one.

I felt losing her so I grabbed my pen and paper and started to write down my thoughts about our friendship. I've been giving her lots of chances to reach out but none was taken and now I decided to give her what she wanted even if she doesn't say it… a good bye.

This is it, I have to let go. My faith in her starts to weaken and besides she looks happy with her other friends already. This is hard but I have to do this, I don't want to interrupt her life anymore. We've been through this before but this time it's for real. I'm walking on my own path and she has to move on her own now.

Just after three weeks of me saying goodbye, I got a text from her. She told me that she'll always be there waiting for me to go back. She also said that if I had let her explain things we might still be able to fix this. Didn't she know? I had given her so much time and a whole world of chances! But she never took one to reach out! Why is it only this time when the trigger has been pulled she will realize that I meant something to her? I guess people are right, you will only see a person's worth if you already lost them. As for me, I am moving and I'll just hold on to tomorrow.
