"A Story"

Let me tell you the story
of a ruby crown
and the evil man who claimed it

Of a beastly core
in a cold stone shell
and the evil man who tamed it,

Of a red corrupted power
and those souls it had enslaved
and the heroes who had fought it
even from beyond the grave,

And of the blistered devil, a madman
who sat upon his hellish throne
to rule a hundred fallen angels
amidst a land of corpse and bone,

Buried in the depths
of his island in the sky
to pull his strings of power
wanting only now to die,

And of a lost and meager boy
so unlikely and so little
who fought his way through the deepest horrors
and solved his darkest riddle,

Who fought to the bottom
of the tunnels which he haunted
and after a hundred thousand years
came to give him what he wanted.
