No Bunny's Business

"Are you sure we should be doing this?" asked George as they crept closer to a clearing.

"Of course," said Fred. "I want to see this hunt."

"Why did I agree to this again?"

"Because you love me. And you're the one who designed these. Don't you want to see if they work?"

"Yeah, I guess."

In the clearing ahead of the two boys was an entire crowd of Muggle boys and girls, each holding a basket. Several adults were interspersed throughout the crowd. Along one end of the field was a whole row of cages. Each cage held a white bunny with a colorful ribbon tied around its neck.

"Oh, look at the poor bunnies!" said George. "We've got to set them free!"

"George, we don't have time for that," said Fred, but George was giving him a 'nobody loves me' look. "George, please don't look at me like that."

George made a sniffling noise, "But the bunnies have got to be so sad. All caged and unable to run free."

"Oh, alright," said Fred. "We'll do it. But not until after we get these eggs in with the rest of them."

"Okay!" The two moved quietly along the edge of the field, until they reached the row of cages.

"How are we going to do this?" asked George.

"Uh, let's try rolling them," said Fred, removing an egg from his pocket. He carefully tossed it toward the ground, where it rolled a few feet away from the boys before stopping.

"That's not far enough," said George. "What if we use the bunnies as a distraction?"

"Hmmm," said Fred, "that might work." He took out his wand, pointed it at the row of cages. "Alohomora!"

The cages flew open and the bunnies jumped out and onto the ground. Fred and George started running right across the field, scattering their egg-prototypes and yelling, "Let them all run FREE! FREEEEEEE!!"

The Muggle children started pointing and shouting, some of them crying, as the bunnies scattered and hopped in different directions.

Fred and George stopped on the other side of the clearing, panting heavily. "Well," gasped Fred, "there you go. We got the eggs into the hunt AND freed the bunnies. Are you happy?"

"Uh, Fred, they're coming back…" said George.

"What do you…" he looked where George was pointing. All the bunnies had converged in the center of the clearing and were now hopping in what seemed like a menacing way toward the two wizards. "Oh."

The bunnies reached them and the lead bunny, wearing a dazzling yellow and green ribbon, hopped up to the boys. "Thank you for freeing us, gentlemen. We will always remember you and your kind deed."

Fred and George just watched, dumbfounded, as the bunnies made their way past them.

Meanwhile, one Muggle child picked up a very interesting looking Easter egg. It had green and blue zig-zags and purple polka dots. Suddenly, the colors on the egg started creeping up his arm. "MOMMEEE!"
