Gone
Tales of the abyss
Summary: For Tear Grants love and loss had become synonymous.
Disclaimer: Namco owns Tales of the abyss.
Gone.
Everything that Tear Grants ever loved was gone.
Her brother, her instructor, the man she loved had all died.
She couldn't even see her friends, her travelling companions whom she now sees as her dearest friends, since they all had gone their separate ways in order to fulfill their respective duties in their own countries.
She did however see Anise frequently to deliver reports from Yulia City and to help reform the Order as an Oracle knight.
And yet whenever she would be in her room in Yulia City she would start to think.
She would think about Van, her beloved brother, and how he would sing her to sleep when she was younger, on the nights when she laid awake crying lonely tears.
But that was in the past, before he started down the path to madness that forced her to kill him. Why couldn't he see how idiotic his ideas were, why couldn't he see things from their point of view instead of pursuing that nonsense about a replica world!? Vandesdelca was a fool.
However he was not the only fool, Major Legretta, Tear had always looked up to and admired her, and she tried her hardest to live up to the Major. She had thought of Legretta as the perfect soldier until she actually helped Van with his twisted vision.
And even though she knew it had to be done it hurt her to have to fight the Major and even more to be the one to strike her down.
No matter how hard it was to think about Van or Legretta, it was always hardest to think about Luke.
Whenever she stood in the selenia garden outside her room she would picture him standing next to her. Oh how she wished for her fantasy to come true, for him to just reappear by her side and no longer be gone like her parents, Van and Legretta.
She needed to ask him if he heard her when she told him she loved him. She wanted to know if he felt the same way. She just wanted to be with him again.
And so she decided she would wait for him to return no matter how long it took.
She couldn't lose him too.
She would wait because she knew that, unlike the others, he was not gone.
A/N: I hope you enjoyed reading this. It's my first fan fiction, so reviews are appreciated.
