DISCLAIMER: I do not own anything related to CSI:NY.
A/N: I don't think this is my best but I'm having fun playing with the characters. Plus, a jealous Flack is just so much fun!
It was a cloudy Tuesday afternoon. The usually quiet, suburban neighborhood in uptown Manhattan was buzzing with voices. The dead body of a young woman was found on the front lawns of one of the houses. The other neighbors were blocked off with the yellow crime scene tape.
Don Flack heard the sound of someone closing the door of a car. He looked up from his notebook and saw Aiden Burn walking towards him, aluminum kit in hand. Don felt that familiar feeling he felt every time he sees Aiden. A mixed feeling of love, lust and giddiness.
Aiden knew that she aroused Don and he was at the mercy of her.
"Don't do anything which will embarrass the both of us," said Don.
"I won't," she said, smiling coyly at him.
"Please don't."
Aiden laughed. "Alright then. What have we got?"
Don, relieved that the subject has been changed, flipped open his notebook. "Dead body on the front lawn. Victim's name is Kelly Hart, mid-twenties, one of the residents here. A Henry Maxwell identified her. He was the one who found her."
Aiden set down her kit a few inches away from the dead body. She took out her camera and began clicking away; taking pictures. All of a sudden a young, quite good-looking police officer nervously made his way towards Don and Aiden.
"Burn and Flack?" he said.
Aiden looked up at the officer. Blonde hair, baby blue eyes and ruddy cheeks, he looked like a model for a top modeling agency.
"Yeah?" she said.
"I'm Officer Paul Walknoff. I've been called to help with the crime scene."
Aiden looked at his eager face and crisp, new uniform.
"You're new, aren't you?"
"Yeah, started just last week."
She extended a hand and Paul shook it, obviously happy that he had finally managed to catch the attention of one of the hottest female officers in the NYPD.
Aiden glanced at Don and was quite pleased when saw him glancing back at them, his hand frozen. If Don had one weakness when it came to love and relationships, he gets jealous easily. Aiden smiled to herself. It won't hurt to wind Don up a little. Besides, the consequences will be very pleasurable, she was sure of that.
"Why do you want to be in the NYPD?" she asked Paul.
"Why am I in the NYPD? I don't know, it felt like the most obvious choice. Why?"
"It's just that you could have easily modeled for some big time modeling agency."
Paul smiled down and blushed. Aiden took a look at Don and saw that he was listening intently to every word they were saying.
"Thanks," said Paul shyly. Then he looked at Aiden, his cheeks as red as cherries. "Look – um – I was wondering if you'd like to – you know – catch a movie? Maybe this weekend?"
Aiden was about to answer when Don slid an arm around her waist.
"She's with me so why don't you put that little blue cap back on and take a hike?" said Don.
"Yes sir," muttered Paul. He put his head down and walked towards the nearest patrol car.
"Jealous?" teased Aiden, cocking an eyebrow.
"You knew I'd do that, didn't you?"
She just smiled at him, mischievousness in her eyes. "Yeah, I knew."
"You're evil, you know that?"
"I know. It's one of the many things you love about me."
Don laughed. "How about when we're done with this case we'll have a, how should I put it, 'celebratory session'? You know; you, me and the bed."
Aiden's smile widened. Mission accomplished.
"You're on."
