Why were midi-chlorians not mentioned in Star Wars IV? Despite the word counter, this is a true drabble, exactly 100 words. (Turns out Force-sensitive is considered 1 word.) I own the plot, not the universe.

A Jedi and a doctor:

J: How can you possibly have Force abilities? You have no midi-chlorians at all in your system! How are you even alive?

D: Why should I have midi-chlorians in me? And of course I'm Force-sensitive; it's a job requirement.

J: Midi-chlorians are necessary for life itself and provide our link to the Force. They are how we can sense the Force and manipulate it.

D: This! This is why Jedi should stay out of making medical pronouncements! Of course people with stronger Force abilities have more midi-chlorians.

D: Midi-chlorians are a Force-sensitive disease.
