I never really took the time to appreciate her, for everything we have been through together.
It just never really occurred to me. I simply assumed that moving in together was the next logical step. I mean I love her, I really do…even when she can be so damn irritating. It's a struggle to get her to put her clothes in the hamper at night. And forget her volunteering to make supper.
Still, all I have to do is look into those eyes, and I forget in an instant whatever it is I am angry with her about at that moment.
That and her goofy grin…I know what she is thinking when she gives me that grin.
I wish she would do something about that hair, though. I really think she should let it grow just a bit more. Oh well, easier to herd cats, I suppose.
I can hear her tussling in the bed as I stand here in front of the vanity mirror. I think I will try pulling my black hair into a braid instead of my usual style.
She's groaning now, good. About time she woke up, we're going to be late for work. Mugi-san is pretty lax with the regulations, but I don't want to take advantage of her generosity, especially since she convinced her father to let us work in one of his music shops.
Time to brush my teeth before setting the table. I should go and check on my other half and see about getting her out of bed.
Oh joy, she is awake and sitting up without me having to shake her.
There is that goofy grin again. I am almost afraid to ask what is on her mind this time. Still, I admit I am a bit of a masochist, otherwise our relationship would not have gone this far.
"Good morning, sweetheart," I call out to her. "Breakfast is on."
She is giggling now. I roll my eyes. I am pretty sure I am going to regret this, but curiosity simply gets the better of me every time. You would think that I had learned my lesson by now, but oh no. Without fail, I ask…
"What's so funny?"
She looks up at me with that same goofy grin, her tousled brown hair in her face and says…
"Barnacles!"
A/N: Never wrote a fluff, so I thought I would give it a go. Let me know how it turns out.
