He stared after her while she got into the cab, and until it was out of sight. Damn her! He'd make her regret leaving him for that asshole jock.
He walked out of the rain into his apartment, disturbing the dust that lay thickly on everything. If he couldn't have her, he'd make sure no one had that damn bitch.

She rested her hands lightly on the railing of the roof, watching the traffic below, going in seemingly pointless directions. Something told her this was the night when someone would really need her, and she was ready. She took in a deep breath of the polluted air of the city, and with a silent sigh sat down. Waiting.
