Title: Violet

Summary: Ginji wakes up to the violet dawn and muses.
I don't know what it was that made me wake up from my deep sleep. I think I felt something tickling the back of my eyes and I had no choice but to open them. I groggily rub my eyes, trying to force myself awake to see if anything was wrong with the beautiful world. I could never get enough of seeing the wonders of the world! Everything is so beautiful and I cannot help but to stare at things which I have never seen before in my 18 years of life. Ban-chan calls me weird, but I don't care. It is because he is Ban-chan and he would always say things like that.
I can hear Ban-chan snoring beside me. This is funny because he always says that he is a light sleeper and would always say "Baka! I don't snore!" whenever I tell him that the way he snores is cute. He doesn't think that anything he does is cute. Well, I think his snoring, his smile, his hair and his purple glasses are cute! I giggle a bit at his snoring. It is obvious that he is still in Dreamland, so I decided to look out of the window for a while and wait until Ban-chan wakes up.
It was then I noticed that the sky was astonishingly purple! The purple reminded me of Ban-chan's glasses. I sneaked a glance at Ban-chan's peaceful face and I almost woke him up, but thought better of it. I continued gaping at the marvellous expanse of the sky and I think that I must have forgot to breathe for a moment as I found myself suddenly breathing in huge gulps of the stale air in our car. I decided to get out of the sky and sit on the roof to get a clearer view of the beautiful violet sky.
In Mogenjou as Raitei, I had never seen a clear view of the normal sky, let alone a violet one. The coolness of the air greeted me as I stepped out the car and climbed to the roof of the car. I just sat there in silence feeling in awe of the violet sky. How did violet skies come about? I had to ask Ban-chan. Ban-chan knew everything! Once, I asked Ban-chan, "Why is the sky blue?" and he answered my question with several scientific concepts that left me baffled, yet awed at the same time at Ban-chan's knowledge.
I just sat there, absolutely still, eyes still locked onto the vision before me. The fresh air of the morning, I thought, was from Mother Nature's own private air-cleaning factory. She probably has a large stirring cauldron and large wooden stick, and took all the air in the world to stir and clean the surrounding air. Then she would release the air into our world once again, and the air would be free of all impurities and that is what I am most probably breathing in now! I giggled. The cool and fresh air, newly cleansed by Mother Earth!
Suddenly I could hear Ban-chan's voice muttering something and I got down from the roof of the car to see what was happening to him. He was awake! Good! Now, he can see the violet sky with me and I can ask him all my questions and tell him of my Mother Nature's factory theory, silly as it sounds. But it is ok, since I love to hear Ban-chan's lovely and sincere laughter.
I slip quietly into my seat in the car, giving him my cheery grin and he smiles back. I should ask him now!
"Ban-chan, why is the sky purple?"

This fic is inspired by a real live event. I was waiting for the bus to school one day and I noticed that the sky was purple. It was simply a... breathtaking vision. But then, I forgot to bring along my camera phone. Silly me.
