The sinking feeling settled in his stomach, replacing the bile that had come to rest at the back of his throat, burning and stinging and filling his mouth with it's acidic flavor. He only slightly felt the ache as his back slammed into the wall, his own body weight dragging him down to the floor. It is then, as he stares blankly at the wall, that he truly comes to terms with what he just saw. His love...His life, his heart, his sun and stars...The one person who was always there, swore to love him until the end of his days, was making love with someone who very definitely was not young Roxas. Exchanging sweet nothings, caressing more gently than he had experienced, and smiles sweeter than the lemonade sold at a child's stand. This... was not how things were meant to go. Not how they were expected, not how it had been promised to his naive heart the day he was rescued from that rickety old house he called a home. And to think...This would only be the start.
What was he to do? How would he tell people that the once happy couple was no more? Where would he live, how would he survive? He had no family, no one to truly rely on. His friends would offer to help, he knew that was the type of people they were. But he also knew they were the people with the least money, the ones struggling to get by. Especially Kairi, for all her beauty and worth. She would be the first to offer, but he was not blind, he had noticed the steady sinking of her cheeks, how clothes that once fit her were now starting to hang loosely. She could not even afford to keep herself fed, and though he had money and a job, he would burden her more than anything else. Perhaps, it was time for him to go out into the world on his own...Yes, that's exactly what he would do.
AN: AAAAAAAAAAAND that is the end of my prologue. I have an idea of where I want this story to go, so I really hope it plays out and I finish it. It's going to be difficult with school, but I will do my best to not let it die. I have personalities, characters, interactions, all that fun stuff spinning in my head, ready to be written.
