Annabeth had changed. Sure he'd only been gone a few days, but I hadn't realised how much she had changed in the time she knew him. How much she relied on him, almost – and most likely more – than her own brothers and sisters. Two days ago, she handed the title of Head Counsellor to myself! I was confused and worried for our most dedicated sibling. I tugged on my ponytail on more time and threw on my shorts and loose shirt, walking back to Athena Cabin after a minute or two long swim in the water. Construction on the silver sheen lights had stopped due to Annabeth's…unenthusiasm. As I walked into our cabin, everyone paused for a moment, like they were waiting for something. With me ready for bed, everything suddenly disappeared. Annabeth's mood was dragging everyone down. Hey, I would have let everyone stay up as long as they liked but they didn't take the offer. I wasn't even as strict as our former Head. I looked over at her lower bunk, hoping she wasn't already asleep. No luck. This was getting borderline insane.

The light was turned off at five to ten. Jeremy's snoring was heard under me ten minutes later. As I heard everyone fall under Hypnos' spell I soon realised I was the only one left awake. On the edge of sleep I heard panting, a quiet yelp and the sudden squeak of springs. I yanked my sword off the wall next to me and flipped down to the wooden floorboards, landing silently. I padded over to the heavy breathing and found myself next to a curly blonde.

'Annabeth?' I whispered.

She spun, her knife under my chin. I lowered it with a single finger, very carefully. ' Hush, it's just me.'

Her grey eyes, like my own, were wide and she was trembling, a cold sheen of sweat glistening on her skin by the moonlight. This was a new one. Normally she was silent.

' I saw him. Percy. He was in danger. In the middle of Ohio. Ohio! How in Hades did he get there?' She muttered with a hint of hysteria unheard of from the one and only Annabeth Chase.

I put my free arm around her shoulders. ' I don't know Annabeth. I don't know. But, I'll see what I can do. Maybe we could Iris-message him. How do you know he's in Ohio?' I asked her gently.

' He was at this cake store I went to once with my dad before he got remarried – it was a sort of field trip for him. Anyway, I'd know it anywhere. They do the best éclairs I've ever had. Ever.' She frowned. ' Why was he at a cake store? Oh, and he ruined it too.'

I rubbed her arm. ' Go to sleep. We'll sort it out in the morning.' I reassured her. ' The mornings are good for that.'

She slowly lowered herself down to the mattress. ' …Okay. 'Night.'

' 'Night Annabeth.' I replied, getting back into my own bed.

A moment later though, an invisible force opened the cabin door and shut it behind them. I knew it was going to cabin 3 again. I'll let her go this time. The morning is good for sorting things out, I reminded myself as I fell asleep.

In the morning…
