Inuyasha couldn't stand this.

He just kept denying what was happening.

"W-wake up…" he whispered as he felt tears begin to sting at his eyes, "…Come on, Kagome… Please…J-just open your eyes…"

As the hanyou held his friend in his arms, he just couldn't comprehend it.

This word, 'death'.

Surely, she would open her eyes any second –making all his worrying come to an end. After all, there was no way she could be dead. Inuyasha- he had just seen her laughing with everyone, not even five minutes ago. Collapsing out of nowhere.. What was the girl thinking? ! Was she playing some stupid game with them? ! Was making all her comrades suffer supposed to be funny….

"Damn it, Kagome!" he yelled as he pulled her away from his chest, he glared at her- watching as her head lolled back limply, her eyes wide open, glassy and desolate. His own widened in fright. He pushed her cold body back against him as reality began to sink in. His claws began to dig into her fragile skin as he held tight to her, afraid of seeing her face again.

"Inuyasha.." Miroku began as he held the upset tajiya, "..Maybe you should lay Lady Kagome down, try and calm yourself."

"I don't want to fucking calm down!" he yelled as he continued to stare at the ground, squeezing tighter to the miko's form, "I want to know what the hell is happening!"

"Look, just put her dow-"

"I SAID NO, GOD DAMMIT!" he yelled as he glared up at the monk with intense eyes, tears threatening his golden orbs.

Miroku stared down at him, sympathizing with the hanyou, "I can see you need a minute with her," she lightly nudged Sango away, following after.

Then that was it. Inuyasha couldn't keep the tears in anymore.

"Kagome.." he mumbled brokenly, rubbing his wet face against her hair, "I love you so much… Please don't leave me. I don't know what I'll do without you."

But, she wasn't waking up. And deep in his heart, as he felt no pulse coming from her body, he knew she wouldn't. His tears became sobs as he kissed her forehead, rocking himself with her. He couldn't let go off her. Not yet.

"…Kagome…"

Kagome…
