This is a story I've been working on with a friend for a while. I've got the whole thing outlined…just not written. But here's the beginning!
Disclaimer: I (unfortunately) do not own Star Wars. I just own my version of the plot.
"Somehow I've Always Known"
Prologue
It was a dismal scene. Night had fallen on the planet, but the fires that were busy consuming the trees provided enough light to cast gloomy shadows on the broken village. The bridges and buildings were scarred from blaster shots. Shouts of stormtroopers could be heard all around. Below the rope bridge, the white-armored soldiers of the empire led the few surviving rebels away as prisoners.
This was too much for old Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi. He turned away, unable to watch anymore. Once again, he was left alone, but this time there was no hope. Obi-Wan did not know whether Luke had been killed or had joined the dark side, but from his point of view Luke was lost either way. The rebellion was lost. Everything was lost. Almost all or the rebels had been killed in battle. The remaining leaders, such as Solo, Calrissian, and Chewbacca, had been taken prisoners.
Obi-Wan stared despairingly up at the stars, which were barely visible through the smoke. He replayed the last twenty-three years in his mind, searching for what could have gone wrong. It seemed to him that some vital element had been missing from the rebellion. But what? Then, from some corner of his mind, a distant memory presented itself—a memory of something Obi-Wan had long forgotten. It was so simple; he didn't know how he could have missed it. He made up his mind and without any hesitation, Obi-Wan Kenobi began to flow-walk into the past…
The Jedi Council was in the middle of a standard meeting when a figure suddenly appeared in the room, carried by the Force. The Masters felt that there was something familiar about the man, but only the little green Grandmaster instantaneously knew who he was. "Obi-Wan," Yoda remarked, "A surprise, this is."
"I have come from twenty-nine years into the future," Obi-Wan replied, "To warn you that one of our own will turn against us. The order and the republic will fall."
The masters could not believe what they were hearing. To believe that a Jedi would be able to take down the Order that they were pledged to was unimaginable. It was inconceivable. In fact, to some of the masters it was illogical. "But what use is your coming, Master Kenobi?" Mace Windu interrogated. "If it has already happened, then…"
"If you'll excuse me, master," Obi-Wan interjected, "I might know how to fix it."
AN: Well, that's the beginning! I've got a little of chapter one written, but it isn't finished yet. I don't have a ton of time to write, so don't expect updates too often.
Let me know what you think and if I should continue by reviewing (please)!
